I think he means like a cat follows a laser pointer all over the place.

Is Rubio truly that spineless to accept the VP position from TMFWWNBN? Why yes, yes he is. He gives empty suits a bad name
It cracks me up that the reporting that Tump is trying find the right “balance” on the abortion issue through his possible VP is laughable.
Trump is not some political genius who can find some mythical sweet spot on abortion, which has eluded pols from both parties for nearly half a century.
Trump is not some political superbrain. He’s a fucking idiot.
Hell, just go old school and declare Prima Nocta.
Oh you still seem to think the Constitution applies to “Honest Don”.
More to the point, a Trump VP will have ZERO influence on Trump “policy” so, why even pretend this matters. Besides which, Trump doesn’t have to actually do anything regarding abortion from the Federal Level. Just leave things as they are cuz he’s only gonna get 1 term anyway (unless he truly manages to destroy the American Experiment…shudder…and even more in that case he doesn’t have to do anything).
According to a new report from NBC News, one of the key factors Trump is considering as he weighs his VP pick is where they stand on abortion. In recent weeks, Trump has become so fixated on the Republican Party’s struggle to find a messaging balance on the issue that he’s been polling diners at Mar-a-Lago to get their thoughts on the abortion views of some of his top picks for running mate — specifically the hardline views of Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), who is believed to be on the shortlist for VP.
Let me translate - Trump is looking for a VP with a uterus to GOPsplain to woman voters why it’s ok for Republicans to dictate what they can do with their uterus.
It will go as well as Sen. Britt’s SOTU response speech.
Good thing he has no opinion on the topic whatsoever except how it might affect him politically.
The sweet spot on abortion is for politicians and preachers to stay out of medical issues between doctors and patients. Dotardis aurantius touches, death followers.
The man whose hand picked Supreme Court justices ended the constitutional right to abortion wants to avoid the issue? Democrats won’t let him. They have plenty of videos of Trump bragging about it.
Too little, too late.
Alas, I think Trump has a straightforward path for dodging abortion. He mumbles and brags that he has “tremendous ideas,” and occasionally leaks something squishy (16 week-ban w/exceptions), while behind the scenes he assure the powerful Gilead anti-abortion freaks by pointing to the SCOTUS picks he made, while promising to make more, like, say, the chief justice of the Alabama court.
Trump’s political superpower is that he can tell his base whatever they want to hear, even things that they might not think they like, and they will go along with it. That base can then force the rest of the Republican party to go along with it, no matter how daft it might be. It’s allowed him to take over the Republican party and drag down the whole system based on his whims.
We’re going to find out if he can pull off the same trick with abortion. Trump does understand that the majority of Americans want exceptions for abortion, want the mother’s life protected if the pregnancy goes wrong, and doesn’t want 10 year olds forced to have babies after they are raped. He apparently understands that Democrats win elections when this is the question, and he’s going to be painted as a huge source of all the draconian laws passed in the past two years (because he is). He thinks he can obviate this by hewing to a (not really) middle ground, but he’s going to be telling absolutists that think every zygote is sacred something they really won’t want to listen to…their hatred of abortion predates Trump by decades. And, the true believer evangelicals are riding Trump’s coattails to even more control of the Republican party, so the party apparatus is also turning against any abortion exceptions at all, as well as towards conservative stances that aren’t popular.
If Trump can manage to get his base onboard his less extreme abortion policy, it will be a miracle. I think the only way he pulls it off is to tell them to shut up and vote for him, and after he’s elected he’ll let them go wild…whether that message can be kept quiet, or if the base can hold back when it seems like he’s abandoning their #1 concern, really is going to be interesting to see.
All of his VP picks are repulsive to all women except the sad and miserable MAGA women, who have no self respect. That’s sad right there, but fuck 'em.
She dedicated her song, FU Very Very Much to the right wing Scotus members who overturned Roe during her performance at the Glastonbury Festival (right after the ruling.)
Tim Scott is just the VP pick to ensure that the Klan wing (which is really one wing and the main building) of the Republican Party shows up to vote for ex-President Poopy Pants in November.
A Little Fingers/Little Marco ticket would be the biggest of losers.
She’s got a really good, smooth voice. She was tapped for the RnR Hall of Fame’s induction of Carly Simon, and did a really good job:
Lake is going to be much, much sadder when Ruben Gallego beats her like a drum in November.
