Originally published at: With Blanche Nomination in Limbo, All Eyes Are Once Again on a Senator Trump Has Scorned
Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said she will oppose Todd Blanche’s nomination for Attorney General in a Friday morning social media post — teeing up the Trump administration to either court a senator whose career Trump ended or ask for the Senate to delay the vote until after Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) fully returns to work.…
He ain’t gonna vote “No.” Don’t need to post a cat picture, because Cassidy’s a pussy.
Riiiiight. Uh huh. Sent home to continue “intensive physical therapy”. Either his supplemental Medicare policy has run out of days (they don’t send you home to do “intensive” PT) or he’s home for hospice.
All the articles about him going home have images of him in a wheelchair - but they are using pics from when he was wheeled off the Senate floor. Anyone living in his neighborhood with security cam video of the para-ambulance bringing him home?
I’ve received assurances from Blanche that he won’t engage in any activity that will negatively impact my net worth or immediate family, which is all I care about (and maybe not even that second part).
[Murkowski] added: “I am also keenly aware that the Department’s nearly $2-billion dollar slush fund—which likely would have rewarded January 6 protesters—is only off the table because this nomination is pending and the Senate has leverage. Once we vote, that will end, and there is no telling what the future holds.”
Can somebody please get her to explain this to Senators Cornyn and Tillis?
What, no problem with Trxmp and his idiot sons getting IRS immunity? That’s at least as bad as the slush fund, imo. 86 47
But he will still vote for those important issues.
Update: of course he didn’t vote “no.” He was never not going to vote “yes.”
Says every single person voting in favor of Blanche. And they agreed to let Collins vote Nay so she can curry favor with her voters in November.
Bill Cassidy the whiff. Never was a non-entity so neutered.
It’s time to wring Epstein around all their necks.
It’s as if the Republican senators were physically clubbed in the heads by J6er insurrectionists and suffer from amnesia.
Then again when you look at the dismal state of the criminal justice system and penal system in the state of Louisiana that Cassidy represents it’s not surprising that he would vote for an unqualified mediocrity like Blanche.
IDM. If Cassidy had said he’d vote against, Collins would have “reconsidered” her No back in to a “Yes”. They’re all real cute that way.
Please take that mental break and forget the drama these assclowns always do. Every r is in on the destruction of general sweep of arms. Every one is part of it by choice. Male and female. Every one. Every effin one.
Cassidy is a coward and his vote will cause harm!
“First, do no harm” translates the Latin phrase primum non nocere. It is a core rule of medical ethics that tells healers to weigh the risks of any treatment against its potential benefits.
Can Cassidy be more disingenuous ? or STOOPID?
He feigns concern about “principles” and “integrity” and “ethical standards” … and yet - when it comes down to being able to stand firm and speak with courage … he just cannot summon the spinal strength.
Cassidy is not trustworthy -
not in the sense of some one who is deliberately evil - but in the sense that he simply cannot be counted upon to do the right thing - he sees the train wreck unfolding … but then suddenly finds himself completely unable to stand up and make an effort to avert the disaster - he get all tangled up in his own underwear - stumbling about - overwhelmed because he wilts at the thought of judging someone who is obviously poised to do dastardly things - but … they haven’t done them yet … so it is possible that they won’t …
He acknowledges regret about RFK jr - should have seen him for what everything pointed to him being - but no … Cassidy couldn’t bring himself to stop what he knew was likely a very bad choice . … and the SOB is going to do it all over again - and a year from now Cassidy will candidly admit that Blanche was a bad choice…
AND WHY IS CASSIDY SO COWARDLY? REALLY? Trump & MAGA already ran him over with a Dump Truck - and will again if there is an opportunity - If Cassidy dropped dead - Trump would do the old “Who? - eh … never was fond of him” routine.
“Mr. Blanche is not perfect, and he will tell you this,” Cassidy said. “But the choice is not between perfection and Mr. Blanche. It is between Mr. Blanche and another acting attorney general who may not run the department effectively under President Trump and who indeed may not be as good as Mr. Blanche."
“I have to vote for this criminal nominee now, because the next hypothetical, unnamed, totally speculative criminal nominee might – theoretically – be even worse!”
(Or something.)
I am getting pretty sick of these dog and pony shows.
knowing what is now known about Cassidy’s reasoning process , I would be terrified by - adamantly opposed to - any one I know putting themselves in his care. This is a really really shitty logic process. You do not proceed blindly forward with a highly suspect course of treatment or Very Low success-rate surgical intervention, on the basis that other interventions down the road may or may not be highly successful or could in some - as yet unknown ways - be worse.
YES “FIRST, do … NO harm” - what is about to happen now in this rush to confirm - is in direct contradiction of this guiding logic.
The POS loses his seat because he wasn’t sufficiently loyal and is still sucking up.
I have no words.
