A minority woman who for most her career couldn’t figure out that confederacy wasn’t swell now can’t find the gumption to condemn an insurrection on our Capitol and see that those folks who incited it are punished.

It’s a no brainer for Nimrata, she is sucking up to a traitor but so is everyone else among the 2024 contenders, if the Trump cult collapses over the next couple years, none of the other candidates will be able to rub her face on it. For the primary that is, the general election is another matter, I don’t really see Trump acolytes winning an election that Trump himself never won.

Is it possible that Rs are so in their own media bubble and feedback loop that they don’t realize they are on their way to political extinction at the national level? Sure, they can maintain a firm grip in some states where Trump lovers / Dem haters are the majority, but then what? Texas and North Carolina go bye-bye while they may get a little stronger in Iowa. And if people ever come to their senses in Florida, Rs are in deeps**t like the Ds in the 1980s.
Trump is despised by everyone except the people who love him, which is about 30%. Trump could hold enough traditional Rs to be competitive when he had power, but not as a loser. Plus, Trump left the Ds with something to rally around rather than squabble: democracy and accountability. And Trump left Rs with plenty to squabble about: constitutional abtractions and absurdities.
Lest we not forget, while more people called themselves ‘conservative’ rather the ‘liberal’ or ‘progressive’, the left’s policies are far more popular, and Rs are the minority party but typically better at politics. Not so much after Trump and yet they still seem intent on doing his bidding. Just stupid.

The republicans get a two-fer token with Haley - she’s both a POC and a woman. They will parade her around to show how not-racist/not-sexist they are until the rubber meets the road, then they’ll stuff her in a trunk and prop up another white, christian, plutocratic, crypto-fascist (they won’t be so open next time, didn’t really work out so well) male.
I would feel sorry for her, being such a sucker and all, but she would do all of the things the WCPC-FM would do, so yeah, fuck her.

Doesn’t she have to, ya know, win the nomination first? I’m not sure how a brown woman who took down the Confederate flag in her state can expect to do that. Sure, she’s done a lot of Trump ass kissing, but who in the GOP hasn’t? I do not understand why she or anyone else thinks she appeals to the GOP base. Being smart isn’t exactly an asset among that crowd.
