Forget it, Jake. It’s Janesville.
Isn’t it anti-Semitic to say “it’s all about the Benjamins”? Somebody taught me that for some reason, but I don’t remember why…
That’s EXACTLY the reason.
Why is he moving?
$$$$.
'nuff said.
Yes, it is anti-Semitic. But you can say, “Ka-ching!”
He just wants to spend less time with his family.
A better shot at being an exceptional butt kisser.
If the whole family is going, the timing is as good as it gets although hard on the middle child who is in the middle of high school. I think you are right about the oldest and college, but the youngest might just be entering high school which makes it a good time to move as I assume it would be to a private school that takes kids from many different grade schools.
Ryan is joining the swamp that Trump was supposed to drain…
John Galt and Dagny Taggart are getting married in WDC so Ryan is setting up the wedding.
Why move to DC? All the better to board the wingnut welfare train.
Frankly, everyone knew this would be the next step for the cowardly poseur who has a portfolio of failure and an assortment of fake expressions suitable for all grifting occasions.
No honest job for Paulie; he’s coasting with the billionaires from now on.
To set up another Foxconn deal
The last remaining Young Gun, Kevin McCarthy, still thinks he can pump the oil-defense-pharma-ag nexus one more cycle before he bails. For example, the original China Lake budget for earthquake repairs was about $100 million post-quake. That rose to $2 billion, and now stands at $5 billion. What can Ryan hope for? Maybe a couple million a year?
As the old song goes: “How can you keep him down on the farm after he’s seen Paree?”. Janesville is not that attractive or sophisticated a place. Thousand dollar suits just don’t fit in.
One of the things I noticed on Capitol Hill is that so many GOPers who made an ideology (a religion, actually) of being anti-government and hating Washington had never had a private sector job in their lives, spent their entire careers in Washington, and when their stint was over, did they go back to their old districts in God’s Country?
No.
They preferred to keep their house in McLean or Potomac (two cushy suburbs with median house prices over $1 m) and get a nice, cushy sinecure as a lobbyist or “working” (loosely described) for some K Street industry association.
Why would Ryan, one of the phoniest hypocrites of the lot, be any different? He’s just signing up for Wingnut Welfare.
Flimflam man at it again.
Maybe not awake enough, but I read this as unselfish shit, my bad.
How much can he make cleaning the same clean pots and pans?
“Why Is Paul Ryan Moving His Whole Family From Wisconsin To DC Now?”
That’s where the money is
As Speaker of the House and the 3rd highest ranking official in the Nation, he couldn’t be bothered to live in D.C. Like some frat boy sleeping in his office and showering in the gym. Now that he doesn’t have to concern himself with those yokels in Janesville, just watch the mansion he chooses now. The sheer hypocrisy is staggering from this supposed “Boy Scout”.
