White Woman Who Called Police On Black Man In Viral Video Says Her ‘Entire Life Is Being Destroyed’

My daughters tell me that this woman is the quintessence of a “Karen”. I had not understood the concept until now. Curious.

BTW, Her dog was confiscated by the animal rescue people.

I think if she dies destitute, homeless, sick and unloved it would be a fate too good for her.

F**kin A. She wasn’t controlling it and it was continuing to destroy the birding vegetation. All he did was offer it snacks to get it under control after she refused to do her one job as a responsible dog owner.

Then keep them leashed.

Sadly, he is right. This culture and environment we’re in, no one is really safe, but a POC is even less so.

There’s no way this can be argued. In a court of law, the evidence might be denied because he didn’t have her permission to record her. That would be the only thing that could defend her. Without the tape, the NYPD could’ve swarmed in there and taken him out and no one would’ve known the truth.

And good on Franklin-Templeton for having some ethics.

Maybe, just maybe, she should keep her dog on a leash. Trying to think outside the box.

The animal rescue people said the dog had sustained 4 unexplained injuries (They weren’t described) since it was given to the woman. I’m unsure what this means, but it implies at least a neglectful owner.

She’s mean to her poor doggie in that video! And she’s tossing around the term “African American man” a bit too pointedly to be apologizing for it once her livelihood is on the line. Not always, and not nearly often enough, but racism can command a steep price. If her whole life is being turned upside down, I really don’t care. Let her rebuild on a moral foundation.

Thank you for this. My thought exactly as I read the article.

This woman vocalized what so many white people I come across usually only hint at or indirectly say, namely that black people are inherently dangerous and untrustworthy and usually up to no good when they’re in places where only white people are supposed to be. The racist views and beliefs she openly expressed here are still very much with us among a large segment of the white population and far more pervasive than the media would have us believe.

The thinking among such people is that black people should stay where they belong and defer to white people when they come into contact. I.e. this man should probably not even be in the park, at least in fairly secluded areas like this, but if he insists, he needs to go out of his way to make white people feel unthreatened by him. To this woman, he clearly violated both these rules, and is thus the stereotypical Threatening Black Male. I bet that were he white, she’d still have been bothered, but far less so, and probably wouldn’t have called the police. Hell, it may as well have been the premise of yet another Meet Cute Rom-Com starring Charlize Theron and Keanu Reeves, entitled something like Wing Dog.

I have two elderly white women neighbors, one in her late 80’s and one in her late 90’s. Both are mostly homebound and have middle aged female caretakers who come by most days for a few hours to look after them. The former one’s is white, the latter’s black. When I came across the former woman recently, she asked if the latter had a caretaker, and I said yes, she does. She asked if she was black. I said yes, she was. To which she made a disgusted face and said “Ech”. Meaning, she’s probably stealing from if not abusing her, you know how those people are, wink wink.

It’s a disease, folks, that we all suffer from, but only some of us acknowledge and try to do something about it, even if only with our own views, actions and words. The woman in this video was clearly brought up in an environment that told her that young black men are inherently dangerous and threatening, and instead of telling herself that this was ridiculous and refusing to go along with this pervasive view, she succumbed to it, and reverted to type. Now she’s ruined her own life and has no one to blame but herself. I feel sorry for her dog (whom she appears to have hurt in the video). Perhaps she has some kind of emotional problems, and perhaps this incident will lead to her getting help for them. But damn, it’s freaking 2020, lady, and this is NYC. Thanks for rolling back the calendar 60 years.

You also do not walk your dog without a leash! It’s bad for your dog, bad for other dogs, bad for passersby who have dog issues, and bad for you! If you do happen to walk your dog without a leash in a deserted field, someone shows up and asks you to leash your dog, you apologize and do it immediately. Things just don’t work out well any other way.

I shudder to think how this may have ended. Sorry her life is shattered but better her’s for being a ass than the black man’s for just being black and making a request.

I’m 100% certain if you were her you would feel that way. You might think it’s justified by her actions, but that doesn’t change how it feels to have all of Twitter hunting you down for being a racist in liberal NYC, your job gone and your dog taken within the space of a day. Again, regardless of if you think she deserved it, it would absolutely feel like your life was destroyed. I can’t believe you would question that.

You don’t do that with other peoples’ pets, not without permission. You have no idea of dietary needs/restrictions, training, etc.

She’s certainly wrong for what she did, but it’s not like he exactly was just walking along minding his own business and she came out of nowhere to call the cops. Definitely a different Karen than some of the previous ones, who both instigated and escalated.

That would happen less if owners followed leash laws. It’s a law, not a suggestion. I am not terribly keen on dogs - I am considerably less keen on this sort of owner.

And that, my budding docile-media journalists, is how you pull off both-siderism.
