White House Bats Down Trump’s Attempt To Withhold Jan. 6 Docs From Congress | Talking Points Memo

It’s interesting that his tweets were followed up rather quickly by Cheney and others in the know.

All those maestros he said he talked to.

So, if Trump is indicted, he pretty much HAS to run for President again, in order to give himself a chance to self-pardon in 2025. Any credible indictment requires him to run or face prison time, even with appeals in the picture.

As Tom Arnold tweeted: “Charlie Kirk was partners with Jerry Falwell Jr at Liberty University’s Falkirk Center. No one knows more about sexual anarchy than Becki & Jerry Falwell Jr & Liberty University.”

…and their names are? When you get burned by anonymous sources, it’s traditional to burn them back by exposing them.

Oh, I see what you’re implying. I’m not willing to take him at his word. People want all this to happen yesterday.

I can wait until everyone is good and ready, so I don’t care if that’s what he was trying to do or not. It’s not going to happen faster because Rick Wilson published that tweet. (edit)

Not sure about that, immunity until Jan 2029 would take him past the statute of limitations for most if not all of the current crimes. Of course, he’d have some difficulty avoiding new crimin’. But I do not think he will run (for real) again, but will pretend to up until least 2023/early 2024 for the fundraising.

You’re saying he has immunity until 2029?

I’m saying that if he runs again and wins, he enjoys presidential immunity from Jan 20 2025 until Jan 20 2029 (that blasted OLC memo).

“These are unique and extraordinary circumstances,” she added. “Congress is examining an assault on our Constitution and democratic institutions provoked and fanned by those sworn to protect them, and the conduct under investigation extends far beyond typical deliberations concerning the proper discharge of the President’s constitutional responsibilities. The constitutional protections of executive privilege should not be used to shield, from Congress or the public, information that reflects a clear and apparent effort to subvert the Constitution itself.”

I would interpret this as Biden signaling to the DoJ “have at it.”

I suspect they’ve had some lawyers whispering in their ears.

ETA: Real lawyers. None of this Kraken stuff.

Meadows and Patel may want to get their sanitized stories out in the open, the better to try throwing others under some buses.

And here I thought the wind had shifted at a bad moment for the sewage plant on the other side of the river.

We are commenting on an article about the results of Trump’s failed attempt to become our Supreme, Beloved Orange Diaper Stain for Life. IF he were to be elected again, or indeed if anyone now a member of his party gets elected, the Statue of Limitations will be moot. They don’t plan to fail the next time around. They are not planning on leaving our Republic in place. It will be replaced with a Monarchy, or similar.
