Knowing Trump and his family and cronies, I’m guessing someone is sitting on a stockpile of hydroxychloroquine. They want to drive the price up with demand so that they can make a killing.
Pun intended.

Heh, I rented Contagion from the local library just before it closed. Still have it as there’s no way to return it. Forsythia’s in full bloom around here. Trump’s leftover manure from when he grew up here is excellent fertilizer. He sure left his mark here, and then some.
Novartis, which manufactures hydroxychloroquine through Sandoz, its generic subsidiary, was one of the companies funneling money to Michael Cohen.
Clarity approaches.
Quelle cwasants et burr!
“If” Navarro really believes this anecdotal info., then shouldn’t the regime get someone who they know (some feral trumper) that has COVID-19 and make them take it to prove it works? What’s that you say? No one with 2 oz. of gray matter is willing to risk what remains of their life for this grifter??
This was in the Intelligence IG thread.
Donald Trump’s stock portfolio is filled with many household names, but these three stocks are more likely to draw jeers than cheers.
Fauci better be right or his credibility will be destroyed and Trump’s enhanced to folk hero. Right now, there are an increasing number of credible reports, some published, that the hydroxychloroquine/azithromycin combo does help in many cases — https://www.drmirkin.com/health/morehealth/latest-advice-on-the-covid-19-pandemic.html
What you are seeing here is the birth of a conspiracy theory not unlike the origins of the anti-vaccination idiocy that has driven scientists mad since a lone researcher based on a spurious study made fallacious claims about autism.
On the one hand, a man who has spent his entire life studying the science of medicine and epidemics. On the other, a hack economist who has read a few articles and whose main credentials are that Jared found him in Amazon after looking for the only economist in America who believed in tariffs and trade wars as a viable way to improve America’s position in the world.
From the NYT piece:
Mr. Navarro, who has been pushing to secure chloroquines at the president’s request to provide to caregivers, walked in with a sheaf of folders he had placed on a chair next to him, plopped them on the table and said he had seen studies from various countries, as well as information culled from officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, showing the “clear” efficacy of the drug in treating the coronavirus. Mr. Navarro also argued that the medicine was being used by doctors and nurses on the front lines of the coronavirus fight.
Dr. Fauci pushed back, echoing remarks he has made in interviews in the past week that rigorous study is still necessary. Mr. Navarro, an economist by training, shot back that the information he had collected was “science,” according to the people familiar with the episode.
Vice President Mike Pence tried to tamp down the debate, and as emotions calmed, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, advised Mr. Navarro to “take yes for an answer.” The president went to the briefing room lectern a short while later and glowed about chloroquine use, suggesting he might even take it himself despite not having symptoms or evidence of the virus.
Trump obviously wants to be able to say he was right and the scientists were wrong, no matter what cost, no matter what is true, no matter what possible unknown deleterious side effects might be lurking out there. This is who he is - the worst possible person to be leading us right now - or ever.
“quod erat demonstrandum, baby”
Trump likes to ask, “What have you got to lose?” Aside from toxicity, including sudden cardiac arrhythmias, HQ is an immune suppressor, which is why it’s used in lupus. So it could suppress the response to the virus. Now, there might be some patients whose symptoms are associated with too much immune response (cytokine storm), something that was believed to have killed many in the 1918 flu pandemic, and they could possibly benefit. But, unless we know which patients are which, there is a lot to lose. Also, there are much better agents to use against cytokine storms, like the monoclonals used to treat various autoimmune diseases. which act directly against cuytokines like TNF and IL-1.
Follow the money. Always applicable - but even more so when trump is involved.
People are saying …
All joking aside, the French team may be on to something, video cued to start of of discussuion
But until these results are confirmed, the Dotard and his band of anulingusts have no business touting this as their get out jail free card…
and they’re usually so subtle.
Too bad, just peaking here…
Wating for the Red Bud…
Absolutely correct. Just shake my head with this mal-administration where advisers are always, always smarter than a doctor who has spent his entire medical career preparing for exactly this type of outbreak.
I am curious to know about the wife of the guy who took the chloroquine from the fish tank and died and she was in intensive care. Is she able to sue the hell out of Rump and the regime for their sage advice?
Let’s not forget that this also happened yesterday -
Click through for the video of the exchange. Trump then immediately ended the briefing.
Very pre-dick-table.
Also, teh QED. I sailed on it once, I think.
