Where Things Now In The Abrego Garcia Case

I am unsure whether collateral estoppel applies to administrative court proceedings, but I suspect it does not. I am 100% confident that the deportee who doesn’t appeal the deportation order gets deported, absent intervening facts showing that the country of deportation is a shithole that put the guy into a torture prison.

There was something eerie about Trump’s cabinet meeting yesterday. Sure, there was the usual sucking up as the Great Leader went around for updates from each minister. Not mentioned was Elon, Peter or AI policy, yet the US is plunging full-on into a surveillance state. Even the market manipulations of late were brushed off. For an advanced economy like the US, the alternative to our somewhat transparent markets is China, where investment in stocks and debt securities is motivated by limitations on investment options.

It may well be that in the future we each can choose our super-intelligent AI friends rather than them choosing us. One might write code for us, another handle finances and another health oversight. But then again, we could be targeted by somebody else’s AI. Until recently it has been pretty easy to distinguish whether one is dealing with a robot or a human. Now that seems to be changing, and pretty quickly.

I’m really missing that designated sarcasm font about now.
