It really was. At one point that guy glanced to his right, toward the Senate chamber, and Goodman knew he had to keep him focused on himself, and the chest shove was the perfect challenge. The guy followed him like a duckling, it was just a brilliant move. I’ve said before this kind of presence of mind is what courage is good for. I’m sure other brave and savvy things were done that day, but it does you good to actually see this play out.
He is a true patriot.
Many, but I wouldn’t say most. Basically all the criminal complaints to date charge the defendants with “knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority” (18 U.S.C. 1752), but a lot of them don’t mention any kind of weapon. Pelosi’s Podium Retard is facing a felony for theft of government property, but he is probably only facing a misdemeanor on the “entering or remaining” charge because he does not appear to have been armed. And the criminal complaint for Zip Tie Retard reads like it was keeping the feds’ options open, noting that he was wearing a holster but not making any claims about what was in it.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers has introduced a bill to award Goodman the Congressional Gold Medal for luring the mob away from lawmakers.
Too bad he doesn’t carry a one handicap, Trump would give him the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Yep. And a good cop. Pretty high praise in my own book.
Jude might think so.
In the rush to get out of the chamber someone had the presence of mind to make sure the electoral college votes were kept safe. Had they not been removed, the seditionists would have destroyed them.
Only slightly OT:
This new criminal complaint is the first time I have seen the feds referring to and publishing Capitol security camera video. There is going to be a lot more of that security video coming out in the days ahead.
Come on, he just stopped by his favorite white nationalist big box store (Home Depot) and pick him up some closet pole… </s
“Cop Killers” works for me.
Hardy har har.
The 101st has a long history of defending the most precarious positions (see Bastogne).
Did your group proud alright Officer Goodman.
The fecking bearded little Q-pug at the front of the mob seen chasing Goodman up each flight of stairs-- is Douglas A. Jensen, 41, from Des Moines.
Jensen, appears in numerous photos and videos taken during the Jan. 6 riot that swept through the U.S. Capitol. He was taken into custody after returning to Des Moines and booked into the Polk County jail early Saturday morning.
Jensen’s charges include:
- Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.
- Disrupting the orderly conduct of government business.
- Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.
- Parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.
- Obstructing a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder.
- Assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers or employees.
Keep those arrests and charges coming please FBI.
Significant report I think.
And Little Rock, Arkansas.
Is there some reason why you’ve implied Home Depot is white nationalist? Why not Menards, Lowes, Ace Hardware, True Value, or Blaine’s Farm & Fleet? (I believe the founder/owner of Menards regularly donates to the GOP.)
ETA: Sorry, didn’t see the snark sign. Olde eyes. I’ve been known to shop at Home Depot.
To hell with their voting rights. The hilarious part about all these felony charges is that a felony conviction eliminates their Second Amendment rights.
I’ll let you guess whether hitting the ballot booth or taking Bertha to the range is more important to them.
If the Wingnuts keep this shit up we may see repeal of the Posse Comitatus Act. There aren’t enough state and local police and NatGuard units to protect 50 state Capitols 24/7/365.
Love of money makes people stupid.
