Sign of the coming times?? Our “I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight” hamburgers came home this evening without tomatoes on them. Drive-thru window had a sign apologizing for tomato absence, but said the chain (a regional one with stores mostly in New Mexico and Arizona) is suspending tomatoes from the menu until availability and prices stabilize. We fully understand. We passed on $3.99/lb. tomatoes in the produce section during this week’s grocery shopping.
