What Republicans Will Do If They Win The House, In Their Own Words

So the 2022 House might look a lot like the 2014-2018 House.

I sure hope Michael Moore is right.

Need Kristen Sinema to vote for it. Manchin too, but he seems a bit more rational (in a ā€œwhat’s in it for me wayā€)

Sometimes I muse about how people who are even paying cursory attention to the hypocritical GOP scumbags could not understand the ramifications of having soulles,s for profit representation. Then , I recall these are the values they embrace and and this is who they are…sans morals, common sense and disregard for the long term effects of undermining our institutions.

From the Beginning, we-who are NOT Trumpists–have tended to throw up our hands and agonize over the Trumpists and their astonishing characteristics.

We should have been paying attention to identifying OUR people and getting them to the polls…and, in fact, we DID in 2020.

OUR NEGLIGENCE IN MAINTAINING THAT FERVOR FOR THE PREDICTED PUSH BY THE RIGHT IN THE OFF-YEAR ELECTIONS OF 2022 IS OURS ALONE…THE QUESTION IS NOT ā€œWILL THE DEMOCRATS COME OUT TO VOTE?ā€ā€¦RATHER IT IS "HOW CAN YOU NOT VOTE, WITH DEMOCRACY ON THE LINE?

Dems should be flooding the airwaves about Cons’ explicit plans to target social security and Medicare. Counter their inflation caterwauling by raising the pocketbook issues over which Congress actually has control.
Plenty of people who aren’t overly motivated on the abortion issue know they’ll be toast if retirement benefits are slashed. We need to be targeting both issues, otherwise we risk looking out of touch regarding people’s financial insecurity.

If the Republicans were to take over the House and start issuing subpoenas, I predict Democrats would appear, and testify, willingly, under oath. And they won’t be taking the 5th hundreds of times, either. They have nothing to hide, and lots to tell.

Republicans considering this would be well-advised to reconsider. It could backfire.

Bingo! Funny, but I don’t recall any of their ā€œagendaā€ on any of the questionnaires of what is important to Americans. Appear to be busy and collect a paycheck, right out of the Republican playbook.

Meh, just not show up and appeal the subpoenas until 2024 - that is the way to deal with congressional requests.

Also national security threat - like slendermans $2Bn bung from bonesaws? The only international connection Hunter currently has is his coke dealer.

Yeah, the country is F’ed when the GQP takes over the House + Senate in November.

If it gets to the point of constant harassment and interruptions of regular business, Democrats can just ignore the subpoenas for the next two years.

There is no consequence without enforcement by the DOJ, and Garland isn’t going to put up with any political bullshit from a Republican controlled House. Attorney General Holder was subpoenaed by a Republican controlled House during the Obama years over a bogus issue, and he laughed it off.

Please note that ā€œgovernanceā€ is never included as something rethugs are interested in.

The mission of a Republican-controlled house is obvious. The chamber would operate as though the job is performative rather than administrative. Faithful TV viewers will have a circus while any administrative work aims to make the US a failed state.

Hunter has no position in the administration. Jared Kushner received a security clearance only after iDJiT insisted. The IC thought he was a risk. They were right.

They are.
Over and over and over again.

You’re assuming a sizeable number of Americans have even heard of the miscreants you just named. They haven’t. So, you’re right. Americans aren’t that smart. But they know the name of the actors in the daytime soaps, so there’s that.

The first time repubs saying they’re going to (try to) slash the social safety net is the moment when all Americans stop listening. Impeachment, debt ceiling, Investigations, they’re all meh to hard pressed wage earners

Oh, this just in from Washington Post and what a shocker, eh? ā€œFormer president Donald Trump’s company charged the Secret Service as much as five times more than the government rate for agents to stay overnight at Trump hotels while protecting him and his family, according to expense records newly obtained by Congress.ā€

I maintain that THIS is the only kind of story that might move a Trumper.

Thanks for this. I’ll just add that it’s been my thought that, even if control of the House were to be lost, the DOJ would still be there, and could continue to investigate and indict, whether Republicans like it or not.

If I had to choose between Congressional hearings and indictments, I’d definitely go for the latter; the evidence is just so compelling, and there’s so much of it.

I’m not particularly perturbed about Merrick Garland’s so-called foot-dragging, either. He’s being careful and deliberate, and I support that - frustrating as it may be - because it’d only take one slip-up to discredit the whole criminal investigation. Besides, we already know there’s lots of evidence, so that can only mean one thing: indictments are coming, inevitably.

What does Michael Moore say?

I’ve long thought that the purpose of all the Hunter Biden talk has always been to cause enough stress and tension in his life that he relapses. I think that’s their ultimate goal. Get him to relapse and then humiliate Joe for whatever Hunter does while in his addiction. I think that’s what it’s been about all along.

I really need someone to explain to me what Walker, Vance, Oz, or any of these other people vying for the House or Senate are going to do to stop crime or ease inflation and gas prices. Because if they get control of either chamber it’s just going to be gridlock. Nothing will get done.
