You make it sound like Garmins are archaic devices a la slide rules or coffee percolators. In fact, Garmin has continually updated its automotive aftermarket GPS devices, and today many users buy them because they’e way less expensive than built-in models, and easier to update as maps and points-of-interest data change. I’m a Garmin user, but have no other affiliation with the company.
