This one is easy. If Pelosi thinks the census is flawed, SHE DOESN"T HAVE TO USE IT. The Constitution clearly states the House has the sole power for re-apportionment. If Pelosi gets her caucus to veto the Trump 2020 census, she can stick with the 2010 apportionment and order the new Administration’s census Bureau to do a “do-over”.
I read the other article about the 1920 Census, and the case of vapors everyone is having over Congress asserting its prerogative over this issue, including potential litigation. It’s all bullshit. NOBODY has standing over the House on this issue, period. If Pelosi wants a new Census to do a proper re-apportionment and she gets her caucus to vote for it on the floor of the House, no court will challenge her.

To inhibit future bad behavior, Trump and his crime family, which includes large groups of Rethugs, needs to be prosecuted and sent to the Big House. It is an essential part of retaining the sanctity of our Constitution and the upholding the Rule of Law. Ms. Harris, needs to remind the future AG of this EVERYDAY of her term as Vice President while POTUS Biden works to put the Union back together.
The Senate has no role in re-apportionment - 2 per State no matter what the Census says. The House has the sole power to do re-apportionment. They don’t have to use Trump’s bogus census and no entity in government has standing to challenge the House majority caucus.
Let me tell you another reason why the 2020 Census won’t move any seats - DC and Puerto Rico will become the 51st and 52nd states in 2021. That will rejiggered the whole thing, and Pelosi will oversee that too.
The 2021 Congress WILL get Trump’s tax returns - you can take that to the bank. The Biden Administration will just turn them over to the House Ways and Means Committee without so much as a whimper.
I’m in training for Census work in SoCal – and am not sure I’ll be able to stick it out because of all the management and training missteps and out-and-out incompetence. My sense is that this Census was deliberately set up to fail and is overly rigid in its procedures. I was told numerous people have dropped out and I’m on the verge. People are hitting the streets only this week, with only six weeks now to complete the job. They’re offering productivity incentives, yet can’t muster the skill to set up the final piece of training to get people to work. I worked the 2010 Census, which was a lot of fun to do. This Census is so clearly underfunded and understaffed and their incompetence is driving more people away. I was told they’re getting only a minimal response rate; in the last Census I had about an 80-90 percent response rate. I really think the data will be so poor it’ll be unusable.
The iPhone set-up and script are so cumbersome and rigid they’re difficult to use and I’ve been constantly given conflicting instructions. Garbage in, garbage out. Trump’s manipulated Census will have to be redone.
I’m on the street enumerating too. I’ve never done it before so I have no baseline. Pretty sad how many addresses there are that have not responded in the time since april 1st. That time lag from covid to now is a big deal. People have moved. Covid alone should drive a recount.
I am still on the payroll as a recruiter and haven’t worked weeks becasue at the end I was calling people who were approved for jobs but did not go to get fingerprinted. I was calling people who had said no I am not interested dozens of times and we still called them. I had a man who broke his leg and would not walk and we called him over and over again. I considered it harassment and told my supervisor that I would to events to help people fill out the form but no longer call. The entire operation was a sh*t show from the get go, a huge waste of money on things that could have been done better cheaper.
