It’s important not to lose sight of these wrongly deported people. As Stalin quipped, one death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic. This is what the administration may be hoping for: that we just stop caring about these people being spirited away to places they don’t know, where they will be attacked, or worse. Shame.

Sounds logical and better than nothing assuming the Democrats have the stones to twiddle the filibuster but probably insufficient even if the goal is just a more modest level of corruption never mind a reasonable semblance of justice.
