It appears I may have spoken too soon. The Whole Foods in question is set to close before the end of the year. At least the Mariano’s a couple of miles east seems secure, though that’s more of a black lower-middle class neighborhood than a working class and poor one. There’s an Aldi that’s just gone in near the Whole Foods, though, and there’s also a condition on the WF lease that requires a grocery store in that location.
