Incoming director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Rochelle Walensky on Wednesday said that she will make every effort to “promote science” to combat the coronavirus pandemic, ensuring that science-based evidence is turned into actionable guidance that is uniform across states.
Right. Next thing you know, they’ll be telling us that air -which no one has ever seen!- is real. It’s a slippery slope. You let those science guys in, and pretty soon there will be nothing left in the world but facts and truth.
Everyone knows the entire world can be explained in terms of the four elements: fire, water, earth and ether.
What are folks supposed to do with all that learning?
Moreover, in my classes, I’ve been explaining these alleged covid infections with witchcraft and recommending that my students have their infected family members bled after a witch doctor removes the corrupting element from their bodies.
You don’t expect me to give up these proven remedies because of some political change in Washington, do you?
Send human beings to the Moon? Purify our drinking water? Build indoor plumbing? Create a system for rapid transportation? Fight back against the dark with electricity?
See? All those things were easily attainable without resorting to ‘science’.
Religion demands you believe, science doesn’t give a shit. It is what it is as the facts are the facts. Sure, you can choose to disbelieve or ignore, but at your own peril and, in the case of a contagion, those around you as well. And, remarkably, after over 300k Americans killed by Covid, many still choose to do so.
