WH Says GOP Rep’s Call For Probe Into Sources Of NYT Tax Bombshell Is ‘Important’

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany on Tuesday threw her support behind Rep. Kevin Brady’s (R-TX) call for a probe into the sources of the New York Times’ bombshell report revealing President Trump’s decades-long history of tax avoidance.

It’s no wonder all the megachurches back Trump.

They don’t pay any taxes either.

“While many critics question the article’s accuracy, equally troubling is the prospect that a felony crime was committed by releasing the private tax return information of an individual — in this case [by] the President’s.”

Edited for accuracy.

What about Trump’s tax returns for the last 2 years? I’m sure he is now willing to add that to the pile, what with having nothing to hide and all… right?

Trump says the NYT is reporting fake news. As in their tax story has no basis in fact. I assume that means the purported tax returns they allegedly have in their possession do not exist. Thus the fake news accusation. What is there to investigate if the reporting is fake? The DOJ is supposed to investigate them for lies?

So, this allegation can’t be true unless they admit everything in the report is true, but El Puto Oranjo said it was ‘fake news’.

So which is it Propaganda Barbie? Are you lying, when you said you wouldn’t, or is the President?

Just a distraction. Shame on the GOP for not questioning the legality of Trumps Tax evasions, which is the real crime.

“We’ve seen the politicization of taxes before,” McEnany said, before echoing Trump’s gripe that the IRS treats him like the tea party. “We’ve seen the IRS targeting tea party groups and it’s an unacceptable proposition for that to happen and unacceptable for the documents to president to leak illegally to the “New York Times” who then publishes the information.”

Oh God is she and Trump really going to resurrect the fight over 501c3s and 501c4s? I thought that the IRS fixed the wording problem between what the law and their regs states?

Almost certainly it came from the accounting firm. Such a leak might violate professional standards, but there is no law covering that so far as I know. Donnie should have used TurboTax and paid whatever it said he owed.

But is it? Republicans have worked hard for decades to get those tax breaks, and regulations on the books. Have you no sense of history?
