Just imagine being laid off and then it takes months to start getting unemployment if you ever do. We all have to worry about the Covid but add to that no money for groceries or bills. This just breaks my heart.
Well now. It seems as if Dr. Fauci has just been set free to completely disregard the rambling stupidity of Current Occupant, Scarf Lady, Mike Dense and the rest of that clown show, and get on with the business of trying to keep the nation informed about COVID-19 from an independent platform of his own. That would BE BEST, I think.
Yeah, I don’t think this is going to work. Fauci doesn’t really have anything to lose but his reputation. He is one of the administration people who seems to stay there to try to tamp down Trump’s worst acts. That already isn’t working, because Trump has sidelined him.
So, Fauci hasn’t got anything to lose, and can probably make a lot greater impact by resigning and speaking out. And because he’s way more trusted than Trump, Fauci will look like a hero, and Trump again like a vindictive arsehole.
Not a win for Trump with anyone but the Trumpanzees .
Trump and his advisors will try to discredit anyone and everyone. That’s their modus operandi.
But the virus data cannot be denied, and therein lies the rub.
Most everyone understands and trusts medical science; after all, nowadays people are born in hospitals, get vaccinations for their children and for themselves at the doctor’s office, etc. They know that doctors have to be pretty smart and that they spend a lot of time in school getting educated. Putting Fauci down is far different than putting down a climate scientist, whose models about the future are way down the road. The virus data is coming in in real time.
The virus is Trump’s Waterloo. He just hasn’t got to the final battle yet, which will be the election.
I’ve long been on here pointing out that Fauci is no hero in all of this. In a real administration, his performance would have been seen as the weak link in the response. He really did take too long to take this seriously, especially considering his position. And he has been too willing to moderate his message to avoid a Trump meltdown that resulted in his being fired. All that said, as underwhelming as his performance has been, he’s still 1000x better than anyone else in this administration and that is as damning a criticism as can be levied. Fuck them trying to scapegoat him because Trump is jealous of his approval numbers
sending a list of talking points to various news outlets on Sunday that disparaged the doctor “concerned about the number of times Dr. Fauci has been wrong on things.” NBC News, and CNN described the statement as resembling a series of talking points against a political enemy.
How many in the press took the bait and played the WH’s hand?
The only people who are going to believe this have plans to go to the grocery store this afternoon and abuse some poor teenager making minimum wage who asks them to put on a mask. They plan to bring an assistant to video it so that they can become the next darling of the idiocracy.
I think part of this is that Dotard can’t stand anyone who is more popular than he is and who contradicts him, and the bigger part is a warning to anyone else who might have the temerity to speak out.
