I was supposed to go to the farm in CT this weekend. Our last girl is due on the fifth of this month and I’d hoped to be there for her birthing (it’s her first time, so kinda special). Clearly, I’m not going - it’d be more dangerous for me to be in CT than it is to be in the suburban Twin Cities area.
But I had a brainstorm yesterday that I wanted to share, if there are other grandparents on this site:
I messaged my daughter an idea about shipping some Easter candy to the human kids, since I can’t be there. Target and Best Buy are taking care of everything for me and the kids will have some form of Easter, even with the quarantine.
Everything should arrive by Monday.
If you have grandkids (and if you do, guaranteed they’re ‘missing’ Easter this year), this might be a great alternative if you can do it.
You did well. Telling people they’re stupid isn’t very productive. But she was ripe for something that would explain what she was seeing. You’ve torn a big strip off her previous assumptions. All she has to do is look at the facts and she’ll be a lot closer to understanding how things really are. Every voter counts.
At some point, I would think that the reluctance of GOP ‘“leaders” to do anything to stop the spread of the virus will come back to get them. If more idiots stay out there and mingle, in any reasonable world more of them would be exposed and would get the virus. At some point, if the illness affects more and more of them, I have to think that at least a few will look behind the inevitable shouts of ‘Liberal plot’ to realize that the a-holes in charge got them to that point.
I keep trying to apply logic. Sorry.
He was surprised himself at the shit he was getting away with. Remember so long ago when everyone thought his dissing McCain’s captivity would end it all? And whoops, it didn’t. He went from outrage to outrage and eventually it penetrated all our thick skulls that a lot of our neighbors liked it.
