WH Adviser Claims ’60 Minutes’ Never Covered Pre-Trump Pandemics. Show Plays Clips Proving Him Wrong.

Well, now, Mr. Navarro, your move. 60 Minutes does it’s homework, you know.

“Show me that episode, then you’ll have some credence in terms of attacking the Trump administration for not being prepared,” he continued.

THIS is the focal point of most (if not all) Rethug thinking. Everything is accusatory. In their minds, it’s not so much an issue or ability of demonstrating that they’ve been successful at something but accusing someone else that they didn’t do enough in other situations. Somehow, that’s supposed to make them look good merely by comparison.

Well Navarro’s first mistake as an aspiring conspiracy theorist was issuing a claim that was disprovable both in principle and in practice. That’s not the way Trumpsters are supposed to argue. They’re supposed to make claims that instead can never be disproven in principle or in practice, like “The Chinese secretly developed this virus along with the Democrats to make Trump look bad.” For that claim, no amount of evidence can ever be produced that can disprove it, since the answer can always be, “The conspiracy runs so deep that you just haven’t found the evidence yet!” And there you go, fuel for your base and consternation for rational-minded people who keep trying to play chess with pigeons.

When Mitch and miserable, morally corrupt criminals like Navarro jumped off the cliff they thought they were in outer space.

The ground is fast approaching.

Navarro: “But, but, but, I am a social scientist!”

This story reminds me in an entirely inverse way of the NYC radio station, WINS. One of their taglines is “All news, all the time.” This White House? It’s all lies, all the time.

Erle Stanley Gardner created Perry Mason. But he also wrote under the pen name of A.A. Fair. Those books narrated the adventures of the private detective team of Cool and Lam. Bertha Cool and Donald Lam. Told in the first person by Donald Lam.

Lam was an extraordinary detective…slight of build, fairly short and a brilliant lawyer. His adventures would feature his ingenuity and savvy overcoming fairly overbearing people in the pursuit of solving murder mysteries.

One thing that always made me a fan of Lam:

His streak of compassion. The books were always great fun for me (because Lam also had a wicked sense of humor ).

Trumpco is busy rewriting history. They’ll probably get away with it. Democrats would stymie their efforts and push back, but first they have to investigate and gather the facts. Pelosi will expose Trump for his lies. Maybe in December.

First Stephen Miller has to be escorted off the set of a show on CNN, and now Navarro makes wild, easily disproved claims on 60 Minutes. The question for me is whether these guys did it in a fight or flight response to the realization that they may have passed their sell by dates, or if it is the new talking point assignment: attack, attack, attack.

Honestly what’s funny here is the suggestion that the media in general aren’t fair to Trump when in fact they’re handicapped in responding to him in ways that are hugely advantageous to him and are unfair to us, the suffering others in his life he invariably damages in his travels. He fucked this up in historic fashion, and the lack of preparation, the active denial there was a problem was obvious to everyone. If life were fair the entire administration would be hanging from trees and their days of blustering bravado would be behind them.

46% of the electorate believing Trump’s version of history (and everything else) was sufficient for him to win in 2016.

It is lies but there’s a deeper layer to it. AntiTruth. What Navarro’s doing is MO for the GOP and has been since the Reagan administration: Lie but put your best effort into destroying the media’s credibility. “liberal media” was their first work that’s progressed to this gratuitous hostility. The idea isn’t just to lie but to make folks distrust the truth. The GOP see’s this as the way to bring about America to their way of thinking. Like what Russia and China do.

This fucker is just one of the dumbasses that has shitgibbon’s ear to pour stupid shit into a brain that barely functions in the first place.

We are truly fucked unless we vote these gaslighters out of office in November.
