I’ve never entirely understood how that’s supposed to work for a statewide or national office. People don’t seem to understand how flukey and difficult to reproduce Trump’s win in 2016 was. They’re like gamblers who had a big win and didn’t walk away with the winnings. They stayed, kept gambling, lost, gambled more, and now they’re in really deep and still can’t stop.
I’m going quibble here DeSantis and Lindsey Graham were Naval Reservists. They spent their time in the Navy in JAG Corps.
Is anyone on here former Navy, and would JAG officers still go through basic training?

When I was a kid I was hit with shotgun pellets due to careless hunters firing at turtle doves a quarter mile from where I lived. Wasn’t hurt at all, but god damn people are that stupid.
Yet he can’t tie his own shoes.
This will be my mental image of trump as it mixes his ego with his carnival barker, used car salesman act…
I won’t argue about the cranks, but in my limited dealings with my school district’s board there aren’t cranks on it, And not that it doesn’t happen but I’ve never heard of a school board member going to conferences, and if they did I’m betting that their expenses would be covered.
It’s just that until DeSantis made pronouncement I never heard of such a thing.
Are your city council members paid?
Have they tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?
Used to be a big problem in the City of St. Louis. Hell it was even an episode on CSI.
I am just noting that not all of the country is in the nutso coocoo category.
But that’s the federal stockpile. It’s not supposed to be the states’ stockpile that they then use.
As a teen I was out in one of our farm fields when a hunter fired a .22 at a squirrel some distance away. I was hit in the shin of my right leg, Square on the bone. I still keep the bullet fragment in a small pill bottle. And I still carry the scar of the impact.

This was on last week. I stayed up way too late watching it.
Shouldn’t the parents of the children needing the ventilators have final say as to whether the Feds loan them to Florida health facilities?
It may get him the nomination for President if Trump doesn’t run in 2024. A candidate has to make it through the primary, and the MAGAts will still be around to drive that process.
If there aren’t enough voting “reforms” to put him over the top in the general election, then DeSantis can hope for a Dems-in-disarray election cycle. Biden will probably face reality and acknowledge that he’s too old to run for a second term. Harris would then be the presumed candidate, but there will be challengers in the primary. It could be a real circus on the Dem side in 2024.
The court, which is comprised entirely of GOP justices, stated that the “principle dispute” that led to Abbott’s veto is between the Democratic and Republican lawmakers over the anti-voting bill.
Um, it actually referred to the “principal dispute.”
The scuttlebutt is they’re leaning towards a McGovern/Eagleton ticket.
I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
The anti-science GOP doesn’t understand and/or doesn’t believe basic Newtonian physics.
In my mind it is a toss between
- cynically sadistic & opportunistic
- deeply maliciously mentally disturbed
I am reminded of a few stories from friends and acquaintances who truly saw some authentically bad stuff in Vietnam … some of those stories involved a few gut wrenching stories of classic freshly minted arrogant inexperienced officers seemingly intoxicated by a combination of their power and their excessive determination to hit some outlandish 8-run home run - no matter the risk / cost to those around them… and these arrogant green-horns & their hubris caused many many pointless casualties… all in the pursuit of their own notoriety and advancement.
