Warren To End 2020 Bid After Disappointing Super Tuesday

Tulsi - who proves that vacuum energy is a thing.

Going back to the 1970s, my favorite candidate has never won – or really come close to – the Democratic nomination. The streak continues.

Whereas Comrade Bernie’s strategy appears to be “appeal to 30% of the Democrats by shouting Fuck You to the other 70% and then hope that moderates continue to split their votes.” How’s that working out now?

Word is trump will 86 Pence and put Tulsi on the ticket.

She ran a good campaign, but yeah, how do you go on after coming in third in your home state?

My hunch is she won’t endorse either Bernie or Biden until one of them already has a more or less insurmountable delegate lead.

One thing we can all be thankful for (well other than any Bloomberg fans here) is how she eviscerated Bloomberg on the debate stage. That was an epic takedown.

Yes.

The Senate is the real prize in this election: if, Heaven forefend, Trump wins again, a Dem-controlled Senate would put to rest a lot of foolishness (and worse).

Massive. It got at least one (and probably two) billionaires to drop out. And it prefigured the kind of attack dog she could be as Majority Leader!

Best place for her is to remain in Senate with a Republican governor in Massachusetts. Don’t want an appointed Republican replacing her…

Well, this is disappointing. And mildly problematic. Now comes everyone pushing her to endorse one way or the other, which would absolutely be a mistake.

If she endorses Biden, it’s going to feed the ‘rigged’ outrage the more strident and obnoxious Bernie supporters will push, and depress turnout among progressives.

If she endorses Sanders, it feeds into the ‘progressives vs the Democratic party’ narrative and make it impossible for her to serve any actual unifying role.

I’d really hoped she’d last until the convention. Now I’m hoping she won’t endorse, for exactly the same reason: so she can play mediator.

Edit: Thanks for helping make my point, Ghost.

As opposed to the strident obnoxious Biden supporters we see here on this site.

Man.

If that rumor is serious, Trump would be a worse politician he’s thus far let on.

The Evangelicals would howl, judicial appointments or no.

America is not ready for someone like Warren. What went wrong? Nothing “went” wrong. America simply remains too benighted, backward, and bigoted.

I think so too, and I voted for her on Tuesday.

There are certainly some of those, yes. But they’re less likely to stay home in the general, given their entire premise is pragmatism.

You can’t exactly argue that it’s best to get behind Biden because what’s most important is getting Trump out, and then not show up to vote Trump out. It’s a lot easier to argue that you’re supporting Sanders for the revolutionary direction he wants to move in, and then refuse to support Biden because he’s just more of what got us Trump in the first place.

I’m not saying I agree with that framing, but it’s a lot more internally cohesive than the other.
