Just got off the phone with wimpy congressman Tom Kean Jr here in NJ. His staffer confirmed that he has not said anything in relation to the comments from the WH but has made statements of support for our troops. At which point I said I also support our troops & worry about their safety and the innocent Iranian people that trump wants to wipe out. After that long silence, I added that TK’s silence implies his support so TK is also complicit in war crimes. It does nothing to move the needle, but I needed to express it. So frustrating.

I have a huge disagreement with comments over the division of Republicans.
As has been said many times, the overwhelming support for Donald “grab her by the …” Trump proves that “values” in front of the word voter is and has always been code for race and racism. It is also the case that nobody could possibly have voted for George W Bush and Donald “George W Bush like America into a disastrous war in Iraq” Trump without admitting that they have ZERO care or concern over foreign policy and morality.
That is whatever is dividing Republicans and causing them to rethink what Trump is saying and doing is not mass murder of another nation’s citizens.
They are divided on how this may or may not benefit THEM.
That is the ONLY reason there is any division in among Republicans is they fear this could affect them personally, either by loss of power and wealth or some other economics.
If there was any moral issue involved, they would never have supported Trump to begin with.
While I hate to judge by the group, as a group, the overwhelming majority of Republicans have no issue with Trump murdering 90,000,000 Iranians. There problem with Trump is they know he is losing and don’t want to go down with him.
It reminds me of the end of the Slovic Dance from Alegro non-tropo.

The headline picture shows his most flattering side. Isn’t destroying an entire civilization genocide and a war crime? We will see if Trump pulls out of NATO before the US is kicked out. Goodbye to the dollar being the World Reserve Currency.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think that Trump can actually “pull us out of NATO.” We are part of NATO under a treaty that was ratified by a 2/3 Senate vote (1949), and a withdrawal would also take a 2/3 Senate concurrence. But what Trump probably could do on his own initiative is withdraw the US from the NATO command structure (a maneuver that Charles de Gaulle once pulled with French forces).

Holy cheese, we are leaving a madman with the nukes and using magical thinking to wish it OK!!! Yes, yes, he might do it. At best, the relief (?) that he did not nuke children will provide cover for bombing schools ID’ed as ‘dual use’ (ID’ed as such by who? The liars from this governement?).
Whatever happens today, none of it is good!

The Iranian regime are evil, but good god, they are doing an excellent job at trolling Trump,
Apparently, Iran is tossing around the idea of making the Strait of Hormuz into a permanent toll booth with estimates of yearly income at about $70 to $90 billion. This is on top of the massive premiums they are already receiving thanks to inflated oil prices.
So not only has Trump not accomplished anything in our interest, but he will have actually further entrenched and enriched the regime beyond their wildest dreams instead.
The funny part is that they are also proposing things like renaming the Persian Gulf as the Gulf of Iran, and referring to the shipping tolls through the Straight as “tariffs” instead of tolls. LOL.
Trump is an utter moron, and he’s being played like one. Who could have foreseen it?
