WaPo: Trump Actually Did Withhold Millions From Ukraine Before Phone Call

I can scarcely hope. No. It’s too good to be true.

“Vile sycophant and nasty boss.”

Perfect description. I’d give it a 100. And its got a nice beat you can dance to.

Immediate resignation and/or impeachment of Trump, Pence, Pompeo, Barr, Mulvaney. At the very least those three need to be gone as of now.

Unequivocally means Trump definitely did it.

Wow. Just wow.

If Barr tries to hang on after the “President” is gone, he should be next in line for impeachment.

Absolutely right.

I think this moves the needle towards impeachment in the House. Is the Senate then required to have a trial? Or can Moscow Mitch find a way to block it? No way will we find 15-16 Republicans willing to remove DT, but will they even have to vote on it?

They should both go down simultaneously, without a chance of pardon from President Pelosi.

OMB was told to lie to anyone who asked why the money was being withheld. Mulvaney’s ass needs to be hauled before Congress. Let’s see if e lies under oath.

Does Trump ever say or do anything unequivocally? Next we’ll be hearing that even though he unequivocally denied withholding military aide to Ukraine, he had the absolute right to do so and shut up.

It’s a corollary to the Moscow Mitch Biden Rule, you cannot impeach a president in the last year of his term.

It would take 20 GOP senators to convict, and that’s only if all 45 Democrats and the 2 Independents vote to convict.

The GOP is all-in with Trump, the only question is whether it’s for fear of losing his vile base, or because they share his goal of an authoritarian GOP led government.

Yes, a dream come true.

But realistically, even if they’re both impeached, the Senate would never convict either. So there’s our conclusion.

For your reading pleasure … on background, of course.

Is Pence up to his righteous neck in Ukraine?

See the Trump extortion scandal from a Ukraine perpective.

Speaking only for myself, the Rubicon we’ve crossed is the following: impeachment is no longer just about removal from office (which, as you note, will not happen). It’s about impeding ongoing wrongdoing in the here and now.

It may improve Trump’s chances at re-election when (not if) he is acquitted in the Senate. So be it. His lawlessness needs to be obstructed right now, right this moment. We’ll deal with tomorrow’s election tomorrow.

And I think I’ve been as reliably anti-impeachment (for realpolitik reasons) as anyone.

I thought his new book was “The Audacity of the Dope.”

This time next week, Boris Johnson, Bibi Netanyahu, and Donald Trump will be yucking it up in a timeshare in Miami.

Cue hurricane.

This clearly and unambiguously speaks to intent.

It’s pretty obvious what happened here (Trump “promised” to give Zelensky back the money in exchange for investigating Biden) but we still need to hear the whistleblower’s exact complaint.
