While I share your frustration, I suspect (but don’t know for a fact) that the comment threads are automatically created when articles are published. So, yeah, SEEMS like it should be an easy fix for the system to push the article title into the comment thread title. Prolly an update to the backend software that broke the process.

As Josh suggests in his editorial comments, extortion of the U.S. government was likely a motive for Donnie holding onto these docs.
This strikes me as a viable explanation, from what we already know of the suspect.

If Chy-na knows what we know, it can backsolve into working out how we know, and life gets very short for human assets, and they plug technological gaps. It’s a huge advantage to them.

I don’t think any of the content based leaks on the classified docs come from DoJ or FBI. Even what the docs’re about is regarded as highly sensitive, which is part of why titles were never listed in the court filings.
Based on historic behavior, I think it’s reasonable to look, and look again, and then look again at Team Donnie.
Anyone’s guess is good on why they did it; but, they already capitalized on the leaks in Judge Cannon’s court.
ETA: Whoever’s doing this is showing contempt for, if not actually working to undermine, the highly confidential nature of this material.

The silver lining:
David Laufman, a former senior Justice Department official who handled cases involving mishandling of classified information, said the “exceptional sensitivity” of the material found at Mar-a-Lago will count as an aggravating factor as prosecutors weigh whether to file charges in the case.
“The exceptional sensitivity of these documents, and the reckless exposure of invaluable sources and methods of U.S. intelligence capabilities concerning these foreign adversaries, will certainly influence the Justice Department’s determination of whether to charge Mr. Trump or others with willful retention of national defense information under the Espionage Act,” Laufman said.
