Didn’t they just get approved a couple days ago? I thought I read something about it within this past week. Hopefully this news can be incentive for them to finally get rid of him.
ETA: yes, the third and final person Biden appointed finally got Senate approval yesterday May 28th. So that’s why it hasn’t happened yet.
(I replaced the previous above article link to one that was more accurate…)
further ETA: and it looks like someones already on it:
Arrest the son of a bitch and perp walk him out of his office in front of all the employees. This clown is a Trumpy snake and needs to dealth with accordingly. Why isn’t the postal board firing his ass immediately.
That is good news. I hope they use the power that they have and put it to good use by removing DeJoy … even if they do not have sound legal ground to stand on. Fire him first. Let him litigate later. He needs to be removed from power.
Don’t forget that they also need to get at least one vote from a guy who previously supported him, so even with 3 added, no guarantees yet. Believe that guy’s term runs through the end of the year.
Doesn’t mean that it won’t, just that there’s one guy who they need who originally voted for DeJoy to get to a majority to remove (already have an assumed vote from the other guy who voted against him in the first place), and nobody knows if he’s changed his mind.
pressuring the employees of his former business to make campaign contributions with the use of bonuses and other tactics
This country needs an independent election authority that draws boundaries of districts, enforces restrictions on money in politics, and administrates the public financing of elections. It is the only way that the GOP mob can be replaced with a real political party.
Yeah, I hope that qualification collapses under all the weight it’s intended to carry. I was always taught that ignorance is no excuse. Then again, I’m a Democrat. Republican mileage may vary.
Ron Bloom was appointed by trump " to served the remainder of a seven-year term that expired Dec. 8, 2020, and is currently in a holdover year. He was unanimously elected by his fellow Governors on Feb. 9, 2021, to serve as the 24th Chairman of the Board of Governors.
“During his career of more than 40 years, Bloom has had senior leadership roles for labor unions, leading financial services firms and the Federal Government.” (from the USPS website).
Not a typical trumper, not even an outlier for that. He has an interesting career, including several years with Obama. Why he supported trump/dejoy is an interesting question, but he’s certainly not vested with the nutjobs.
Per popehat, not even one little bit of it. When the gummint does it, it ain’t RICO. Doesn’t mean it ain’t criminal, but RICO definitionally does not apply.
