As the story makes clear, the Republican Party’s ploy was explosed, but unfortunately the guy was NOT busted, in the legal sense. As someone else suggested, could he be disbarred if not put away in jail during the campaign?

In the Epstein case, we hear that maybe something more nefarious than suicide may have been involved in his choking. It is interesting to speculate that others than Trump may also want to silence this guy before he blabs. Maybe he has been using his pedo-knowledge to blackmail others that he provided children or something else in pedo-land that we can’t even imagine. Maybe Trump was impressed at first by the use of kids to gain leverage over rich or connected rivals?

Hey, Chris. Is Nick an attorney? It says in the story that he “served as an assistant state’s attorney and clerked for state Supreme Court Justice Lloyd Karmeier.” But I looked him up in the Illinois Bar directory and he’s not there. It’s possible they have some opt out provision for their bar directory.
In Oregon, this kind of impersonation is a violation of our ethics rules.

Yes, he’s an attorney. When I first met him he was working with the St. Clair County State’s attorney’s office. I’m sure the impersonation is a violation in Illinois too. Nick is very tight with our former failure of a governor Bruce Rauner. Nick isn’t a bad person. He’s just completely consumed with the GOP platform.
