I think deep down inside these grifters think his only real crime was getting caught. The fact that virtually every puke elected to federal office bent the knee to dump tells you that the vast majority of them will say anything to maintain their grift. Of course, there are some that are actually stupid enough to be genuine true believers, but more of them are like carnival cruz–snake oil salesmen with the blue blazer, red tie, and made-in-china lapel pin.
