VA IG Reviewing Wilkie Allegations | Talking Points Memo

Too bad we no longer have a criminal justice system to hold assholes accountable.

You appear to have gotten the details of this story almost right, Ms. Concepcion: Goldstein is actually a reserve Naval Intelligence Officer and a lead staff member for the Women Veterans Task Force on the House Veterans Affairs Committee that’s chaired by representative Takano, not an aide to VA Secretary Robert Wilkie.

Please refer to the article at the following link for clarification:

It is easy to chalk this up to another bad actor in the Trump administration, but before we do I would like to know who is after Wilkie and why.

From the NY Times article, where they describe: "the D.C. V.A., which is very male and very chaotic.” Are they just talking about the DC VA, or did they confuse the place of the assault with Capitol Hill? Sounds the same to me.

Besides, she isn’t anyone’s type.

Add to that: servicemen who respond to subpoenas and testify truthfully to Congress get fired from their job and escorted out of the White House by Security.

Oh yes, Wilkie is turning a page from Trumps nasty personality. Surely the VA has done nothing wrong, all its actions have been righteous, they’re perfect. Yuck!

Well, now we will find out if that DoJ memo giving legal immunity to a president applies down the food chain. I would hope that retribution on an aide would be cause for dismissal of the Secretary. But this is the era of trump and as we all well know … shit flows down hill. I hold little hope myself that the Secretary will be let go. Apparently the first and best way these days to get frog marched out of your office would be even an inadvertent display of disloyalty to trump.

Apparently this mighty fine man is another career “reservist” holding the rank of Colonel ( O-6 ) and never saw a minute’s heat although the world’s been boiling the entire time he’s been in. I think the VA can do better.

You’d be amazed at the “cover up” power the VA has. I’m not saying it doesn’t provide great service to America’s veterans. It does bit man you have to be there to see it. Years ago I was working as a biochemist in the VA at Gainesville Florida. I worked in a type 5 collagen extraction lab that was assisting in venous graft ( carotid bifurcation ) survivability. One of the guys using the stuff we extracted was doing a bit on type 5 seeding on Gortex. In short, he wasn’t getting much so he fudged his data a bit. He got caught by my supervisor and the evidence against him was dispositive. The Director went after me and my supervisor and let Dr. FudgeIt walk. I move across the tunnel to Shands Teaching hospital to work on breast cancer and she hit the road to California. Dr. FudgeIt worked at the VA for many more years. I’m sure this is no one off.
