Republican Sen. Mike Lee (UT) on Thursday blocked consideration for legislation to establish a National Museum of the American Latino and an American Women’s History Museum as part of the Smithsonian Institution, declaring amid calls to recognize the history of both demographics, that the nation does not need “separate but equal museums.”
Right Mikey…because you and your fellow bigots treat WOMEN and LATINOS ‘separate but equal’ right??? No special treatment for them! You hypocritical fraud.
“The last thing we need is to further divide an already divided nation with an array of segregated, separate-but-equal museums for hyphenated identity groups,” Lee said.
This argument always cracks me up. They will never understand that celebrating diversity is inclusive, not divisive. It’s only divisive if your issue is diversity itself. It’s only divisive if you have a problem with celebrating the accomplishments of others.
Really? So much for being a member of a religious minority that generally (obviously not always) sympathizes with other minorities. Although women are not a minority— we are the majority.

That’s nice.
Ask him about the Church History Museum in Salt Lake City. I’m sure he’s familiar with it.
Maybe the guy just doesn’t like women. I do and I like diversity. Black woman ( The blacker the better ) , Brown ones ( Iranians are awesome ) Asian…any. They can have hyphenated names too.

Sen. Lee, this simple thought demonstrates that your simple mind is unqualified for the complexities of governance. Please remove yourself from all public discourse in the future. Permanently!
Thank god we still have courageous white men ready to whitemansplain that any history other than history about white men is divisive. I mean, it’s not like you can tell white man history without an occasional woman or person of color entering into the picture somewhere, right?
