Not nearly as much as it did us. We could rely on him and we needed to because when we move to New Mexico we get our mail forwarded and it’s always iffy. But our carrier knew us and knew what to look for. sigh
“Accordingly, Defendants maintain that the data possesses little to no analytical value and should not be considered a reliable indicator of performance.”
This boilerplate was lifted directly from the legal arguments which have already been drafted by Chiselin’ Trump’s legal team for the upcoming COVID-19 pandemic tribunals.
The post-DeJoy cleanup is going to have to include new Federal laws and/or prosecution and prison time under current laws.
Yes. I want the post office fixed dammit. I’m sick of these attempts to destroy it because it’s a service we get that has worked for almost 300 years.
Goddamn the GOP to hell
VAN is a fantastic voter database. You can really target your GOTV program for maximum return on time and effort.
Nope, you can go the SOS webpage and download yesterday’s voter rolls. They aren’t searchable, but it’s a list, by county, of who’s vote was received or cast the previous day.
@occamscoin Link of you want to check it out:

Yes, but we’re discussing whether the state is providing data on who has voted in the current election, in real time, on a daily basis.
… but there is DeJoy in Mudville (—mighty Casey has struck out).
I want it to go back to being a cabinet-level agency with the same funding as other such agencies.
Do you remember, or get one of those postcards, that rate your voting history? I got an A-. So I heard about those lists, but I wonder if the calling I get (I don’t answer my landline unless I know who it is) is based on that? I’m sure it is, but we don’t register by party in MO, or at least I don’t remember seeing a designation when I look up my registration. And when one’s TV market overlaps with another state, the campaign commercials are enough to drive you crazy.
I do look at the campaign mailers, they’re not as annoying.
Shouldn’t we citizens being rebelling against the ruling the Supremes handed down that created this mess. Please, someone, organize something…how about a mail campaign to the Supremes right leaning judges? how about mailing them something symbolic? a copy of the Constitution? Let’s put our heads together and let them know we are on to them and they should remember the majority of us do not support their voter suppression efforts.
Republicans don’t understand that not everything in life is meant to be gauged purely on a profit motive. However, it is informative how they think. The Post Office was never meant to be a service created to make a profit…even though it did before they tried to screw it over with the way they wanted them to fund their pensions.
If only they could get rid of the socialist notion to provide public libraries to the community at large…you bet they would. Btw, mine just opened up on a limited basis a week or so ago. Everything is cleaned and only a few are allowed in the library at a time. They also have curbside pickup on holds. Yay!
The fix is in. They force the USPS to slow roll ballot delivery, then get corrupt political hacks like Kavanaugh to rule that ballots have to be delivered by Election Day, no excuses or exemptions.
This SCOTUS is just begging to be replaced, and since we can’t really do that, we must dilute the poison with good, upstanding judges. At least four, along with reforming of the federal courts. I don’t think this should be remotely controversial among us Democrats.
I’m just hoping that Clarence Thomas might have exposed himself to the virus when he swore in ACB the other night, and that he’ll take it back to Alito, Kavanaugh and Gorsuch when they have their weekly poker game. Exposure at this point is the best we all have at knocking out a few of them for the next session.
De Joy and his cronies doing time would be nice. Even if just for criminal contempt.
This is the first time we’ve had this available to us. AmericaVotes is a nonprofit that set up the website. I don’t know how they got access - they don’t tell us much here.
At least here (IL), the campaigns can also look at your voting record for the primaries and see which party you requested for your ballot.
DING! DING! DING!
We have a Winner!!!
You’ve just won the Willard Mitt Romney Bain Capital Creative Finance award!!!
And yes, forcing USPS to fund a pension 75 years into the future is pure unadulterated horse shit. Think about that folks. How many folks that retire at 65 are expected to live to the young age of 140? And if they’re expected to live only to the pediatric age of 100, should they retire at 25? So, yes, this was a method implemented to hamstring the USPS while also making privatization VERY attractive. Raiding pensions is one of the things Republicans love to do. That’s also why Satan’s Avatar is trying to deplete Social Security.
Edited to correct grammar/spelling.
I’m a big fish tank person. I order a whole lot of my aquarium stuff online, and have it shipped. One of the cute things I’ve noticed, especially the past month or so, is that USPS are marking my orders as delivered 2 or 3 days before they make it to my porch. I haven’t figured out if it’s my mail person doing it maliciously, or she’s delivering it to the wrong house and it takes a few days for neighbors to get them to the right house. We’ve had to walk a few packages up the street this summer. I wish I had nice stories to tell about my mail person, but she is and has been awful since long before Dejoy showed up. Haven’t once seen her wearing a mask.
I will not order live fish via USPS anymore, even overnight service. I didn’t have to learn that the hard way (no fish were harmed in the making of this post).
If you want to fix the USPS rehire us old fucks who were not in management as a team to start at HQ and work our way down we the authority to hire and fire.
We will choose the few in management who knew what the fuck the USPS is and is here to serve the public not management. Once again I retired the second I could because of management.
