US-Born Teen Lost Over 25 Pounds While Detained By Border Patrol

18-year-old Francisco Erwin Galicia, who was born in Texas, said he experienced firsthand the appalling conditions at the migrant detention facilities while border officials detained him for more than three weeks.

Claudia Galan, Galicia’s lawyer, confirmed to TPM that her client had lost 26 pounds due to poor nutrition while being held under the custody of the Customs and Border Protection and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agencies.

The bill for the Nutrisystem meals is in the mail to Francisco as we speak.

Trump Administration officials’ response: “Isn’t everyone trying to lose weight? It’s clear that the three weeks in detention introduced him to a healthier lifestyle.”

I would never wish this on anyone, but I sincerely hope this testimony is played on endless loop in the MSM. Of course, the GOP will deny all of it. They’ll even deny that his incarceration happened. Or it was a misunderstanding. Or the left wing is making a big deal out of nothing (cue the snowflake references).

And no one from the MSM will hold them accountable.

No one.

We are a racist, fascist country and in no way deserve to claim leadership of the free world or status as an exemplar for all nations.

Osama bin Laden was 100% correct when he predicted he could spark the process of us turning into this horrifying nightmare mess.

He needs to sue…and I mean for a WHOLE lot of money. How hard is it to verify a birth certificate? His lawyer tried to give it to them for over a week.

Why? So some Bush or Trump judge can fuck with his case and a jury of white people can send him home with nothing and then the Fascist Five can set the law that there’s no cause of action when something like that is done in the name of keeping Amurikkka white?

Headlines should say “American Citizen Held in US Concentration Camp” And, he finally was released, what about all of the non-citizens?

It’s horrible to think that the weight loss was due to stress.

Yup, Abolish ICE+CBP seems much more appropriate when they illegally detain Americans for weeks on a regular basis.

Something tells me the government would settle…quickly, and probably want to shut him up.

No fucking way. His mom made the mistake of claiming him foreign born at one point, which is what they’ve been relying on to hold him so long in hopes of removing another brown voter from the country permanently. Trump and the fascists in the his new law firm known as the DOJ will fight tooth and nail to protect the POTUS’s “right to protect our national security by doing anything he sees fit” and will claim they were justified beacuse of the kid’s mom’s mistake.

What is not reported here is that his mother is undocumented, she gave birth to him in Texas, but as a child she used a fake birth certificate to get him a tourist visa for Mexico so he could travel back and forth to visit relatives. So yes there was confusion, but he had a lawyer, why not place him under the lawyer’s charge?
Here’s a fuller reporting.

“Generally, situations including conflicting reports from the individual and multiple birth certificates can, and should, take more time to verify,” the statement read. “While we continue to research the facts of the situation, this individual has been released from ICE custody. Both CBP and ICE are committed to the fair treatment of migrants in our custody and continue to take appropriate steps to verify all facts of this situation.”

…so says the Goebbels of the CBP.

25+ pounds in 3 weeks is starvation. To burn that amount of fat in that amount of time would mean next to nothing for food. And if some of that is water weight, it would also imply scant amount of water.
