This is interesting, it would greatly discourage an armored assault by the Russians. Let’s see if Putin gets on his secret line to Trump and puts a halt to it.

Don Vladimiro is not going to like it… he is going to call his crew in Washington headed by Don Trumpardo to cut it off or he will get a new crew.

Among the terms of the agreement is a requirement for President Zelensky to publicly announce a formal investigation by the Ukrainian government into Elizabeth Warren’s claims of being Native American. An investigation by the Ukrainian government of Pete Butigieg will be forthcoming as well, as soon as they can think of a charge.

American tax payers subsidize the arms industry. The American tax payers provide millions in aid to foreign countries. American tax payers fund the government agencies that stir up trouble and cause many of the conflicts that our aid is supposed to alleviate. The counties that the American tax payer provides aid to are required to spend the aid on American made arms. Most of the arms companies barely pay taxes. Round and round it goes as the American tax payer gets absolutely nothing back for all this investment while the conservatives who control this system get fifthly rich and many people die and suffer as the result of these weapons.

This is only happening because it doesn’t matter anymore. The Ukrainians have been shown that they are on their own and already negotiating a ceasefire with their pants down. Trump delivered what Putin wanted. Ukraine getting the missiles is just a cover up to the backstabbing.

I think I replied in the wrong place.

All that military aid that the US gives out is as much a giveaway to the arms industry as it is to the receiving country. The US basically gives them a gift card to shop at Lockheed’s or Raytheon’s who love those customers because they do not have to give discounts or kickbacks. Only Israel is allowed to spend part of the money on their own domestic industry.

So why we keep giving 600 millions a year to a disgusting regime like Pakistan that has proven to be a very unreliable ally (Osama Bin Laden-hiding unreliable)? Because the Military-Industrial Complex has already budgeted that income, and if they don’t get it many Congress-critters are going to get an earful.

" But this time Kyiv is purchasing the missiles directly from Washington, according to a statement from Ukraine’s deputy defense minister Andrey Zagorodnyuk.

The Department of Defense operates a foreign military sales program that allows foreign countries to buy U.S. weapons systems."

The Ukrainians ought to be sitting pretty these days. With the impeachment facing Trump, they can get pretty much anything they want. And probably at bargain prices.

I read somewhere that the terms of sale do not allow them to be used against the Russian-backed rebels. If that is true, Putin will simply outsource his invasion to the people along the border.

I suspect there won’t be many deployed in Eastern Ukraine. That last batch was held in the western portion of the country. The problem is keeping them out of the hands of rebels and Russians. Ukrainians are notoriously corrupt and given the chance they’d those things quick. The weapon is a damn good one. No tank in existence today can survive a hit by one. So Russia will pay attention but deployment in eastern Ukraine is risky.

You are probably correct but they could be quickly brought in to any conflict in the hands of trusted troops. The nightmare is that they could be used against NATO forces if they end up in the hands of the Russians or their allies.

I have good connections in Ukraine and here is the actual deal:

They are getting javelins, sure. But what they are NOT getting is the ability to operate them. The actual Javelins purchased are currently located near the Polish border. There is nothing but cardboard and hay bales along the eastern border where the fighting is. The US government is NOT providing advisors for using them. It’s a bs move by Trump world to say we’re giving them lethal aid, when in fact we’re not doing any such thing.

They should ask for some RIM-174 ERAM’s + “AEGIS Ashore” RADAR batteries. Better than an S-400 for air defense but with added GPS guided ship and ground strike capabilities. Would make operating out of the Black Sea a crapshoot for the RF.

But we really did give them millions of dollars with absolutely no return for the American tax payer.
