What it’s happening is that both Texas and Florida are getting super expensive, at least on the places where people wants to live. Uvalde and Levelland are still super cheap, but who the hell wants to live there.

I grow my own lettuce. And in the summer, all the vegetables and fruit I don’t grow I get from local growers. Many local eateries source also their veggies and fruits from local growers. But we have been avoiding eating such foods that aren’t local. Now and then we do take-out from a local tavern that makes good hamburgers and a good Buffalo chicken salad, my husband’s “usual.” God only knows where they get their lettuce, so we’ve modified what we order from them.
Which reminds me. I need to go get corn for tonight’s dinner. The best corn in the world is grown a couple of miles from me and has come in very late this year because of the dearth of rain. This will be our first corn of the summer from that farm.
