All of Trumpy’s people are nothing but fucking scum and should never work again.
They were happy to go along with it until the insurrection failed.
If proof of crimes required the confession of part or all of the deeds from the perpetrator, very few people would ever be found guilty.
Gaslighting and bullshit worked to get Trump elected and worked to make him seem ‘presidential’ for four years while he and his courtiers robbed the country blind and ran it stupid so they had no reason to assume that wouldn’t work for this as well; no reason at all.
To see what is in front of one’s nose needs a constant struggle. ...When one is making out one’s weekly budget, two and two invariably make four. Politics, on the other hand, is a sort of sub-atomic or non-Euclidean world where it is quite easy ...for two objects to be in the same place simultaneously. ...all finally traceable to a secret belief that one’s political opinions, unlike the weekly budget, will not have to be tested against solid reality.

I thought that’s how the USA was founded.

True, but also omissions under circumstances in which he would be reasonably expected or even had a duty to act, which is why it was so damning last night when Cheney highlighted all the things he didn’t do that Mike Pence ended up having to do to try to stop the siege and call in backup, etc., things that were technically outside Pence’s authority even, only lying in the authority of the POTUS, strongly suggesting it was not just reasonable to expect Trump to have done them, but that it was his duty to have done so.
Josh Kovensky is just killing it. First class articles, as usual.
I suspect that you are 100% wrong.
Just a reminder of how dangerous Masterbateriano is.
What??? The head of government knew there was an attack on Congress and he did nothing to stop it. He did not call: the national guard, the defense department, the DOJ law enforcement, or any other organization that might have stopped it.
What is not “weak tea” in you opinion? Trump saying, yeah, he knew he lost, but he sicced the Proud Boys and the move to hang Mike Pence and kill Nancy Pelosi because he doesn’t like to be a loser?
Get real, dude.
You can tell my brainwashed relatives that the election was stolen and they will not believe you.
Their preachers and priests will continue to say the election was stolen.
Mastriano will continue to say the election was stolen.
Fox, OANN & Newsmax will continue to say the election was stolen.
Hate Radio will continue to say the election was stolen.
Gateway Pundit, Red State and other right wing sites will continue to say the election was stolen
The QAssholes will continue to say the election was stolen.
And yet? I’m still not giving up, nor giving in.
Trump’s top lieutenants were in touch with reality: the election had not been stolen.
The entire Party knew. Everyone in the entire world knew.
The conspiracy to defraud statute – 18 USC § 371 – requires one or more acts in furtherance of the conspiracy. It doesn’t say anything about failures to act, and including inaction would be post-conviction SCOTUS-bait.
Agreed. But you have to flip at least one of the inner circle to get to the king. And it looks like they’ve solidly held that final line. Dunno what he has on them.

Yup. That’s what I want to hear because I know damned well he said it.

We don’t know who he called or not because we don’t have the damned records. We know he was on his phone tweeting, so there’s gonna be calls in there. To whom and for what purposes, would be nice to have

I’d be happy with 9 months, to be honest. Just to see that fat fuck locked up would let me die happy.

That’s the actus reus component, sure. But the omissions are still very relevant to the mens rea component.
