Criminy. That is some powerful stuff. I did a few weeks of prednisone and felt like a different person, euphoric, gaga, dismissive of the outside world, fatigued; and then the side effects came–muscular weakness, pain in the knees, pressure in the eyeballs. My ENT just told me the doubled dosage of the 2nd go-round was still a very modest amount.
I can’t imagine how altered the Altered State of Our President is.

You know, if he just said “I’ve got it, I’m recovering thanks to the doctors, everyone should be careful” then he’d garner some sympathy from people. This was the perfect time to pivot into the more empathetic standing and convince people that he actually gets it and will be a better president. He might have pulled some people back that way.
This insistence that he’s fine, despite the evidence, and to act tough and insist on doing things that break quarantine and endanger others, is just going to drive people away. He’s convincing people that he doesn’t think anyone else matters, and that his lies should be believed without question. It’s politically stupid, but it’s also why he insisted on leaving Walter Reed…he needed to be in the WH where he could control things more tightly.
The way that the administration has handled COVID is still astounding…if they just did what every other intelligent leader did, or what any president did, then he’d be seen as a leader and might be cruising to a win. Instead, they have doubled down again and again on the course of action that hurt them politically, and hurt America. I guess it’s good we got to see this, and that he’s continuing it, simply because it should hammer home the lesson that these right wing assholes shouldn’t be allowed into power again, but it’s a pretty painful way to learn the lesson.

The truth here is that the more the voters see of Trump, from here on out, the more they can’t wait to vote him out.
He’s now hell-bent on killing his own supporters with COVID. Supporters, some of which, will be fighting to stand in the front row, so that they can be infected by their God-King.
Trump isn’t a disease, so much as he is a symptom. America made him. America gave him the keys to the Federal government. America deserves him.
But America will also show him the door on November 3rd.
What happens after that, is anyone’s guess.
