It was a thoughtful piece, rather than the usual mosh-mash. I appreciated it. With all of the crap going on, sometimes it’s good to slow down and focus on something really important. I think we’re less the intended audience for this than “the media.”

The only major social media app I use is Facebook, and (not including commenting on friends’ posts), I probably post no more than 3 times a day … usually links to articles such as the ones on TPM. 5,000 posts would take me 5 years.

That is one of the basic problems with this country. So many no-talent idiots are being paid obscene amounts of money to just stand there and look good to their targeted audience. Fauxnooz is the leading model of that, and the people who are either unable to think, or prefer to have Rupert Murdoch do their thinking for them think that what they hear from these plastic bots on their TV screens is the word of god.

Starbucks over expanded over the past two decades. Its founder Howard Shultz once said that when he saw a store with long lines he would proceed to open one up on the next block. There’s one at Astor place which has been open for three decades and is usually quite busy. Another one opened on the next block but closed a few years ago. It’s the over saturation plus we have more local coffee shops.
