“Farmers, who voted for President Donald Trump, are now feeling “helpless, frustrated, and angry” after the administration made cuts to services they rely on, according to the Washington Post.”
Many in the area voted for Trump, but the good feelings are starting to fade, giving way “to a growing sense of helplessness, frustration, and anger,” the Post wrote.

“For every farmer I’ve talked to, this has been earth-shattering and life-changing,” Bryan Zesiger, a winemaker, told the Post. “I don’t know what they were supposed to achieve, but from our perspective, you just hurt a lot of people.”

P.S. If Trump ran for a third term these cultists would cast their lot in with him, again.

Today’s Heather Cox Richardson and Paul Krugman:

ps Lil’Marco’s attempt at an “Asshole for the Ages Performance” before the Senate yesterday merely validated every insult Trump has hurled at him and Kristie Noem’s bookend performance provided further scientific lab data supporting the theory of negative IQ beyond the volumes already furnished by Don Jr. and Eric.

For several years now, Josh Marshall has written about the cruelty that always attends Republican rule, whether at the federal or state level. It is not ancillary to the policy: “the cruelty is the point.”

How about the misery and disruption that attend Trump’s tariffs and other policies? So many pundits think this will somehow discredit Trumpism and will result in a repudiation of the GOP, for example:

But what if fostering disruption and sense of crisis is the goal? The following piece makes the case that authoritarians typically benefit from a prevailing sense of crisis by exploiting people’s lizard-brained sense of threat, which binds them more tightly to dictatorial figures. Given the stupidity of at least half the American people, who cannot even identify what is clearly in their material self-interest, I’m not willing to say the theory is wrong:

Ho, Ho, Ho: ““It is not the role of the judiciary to check the excesses of the other branches…”

Give that man a copy of the Constitution. Of course, in this maladministration, ignorance of the law is … a requirement.

Just a quick note. Mario Cuomo passed a few years ago. I think David means Andrew Cuomo.

The real problem is, most Lefties are incapable of recognizing that people may have other motivations than “material self-interest.”

“All Fascism did not die with Mussolini. Hitler is finished–but the seeds spread by his disordered mind have firm root in too many fanatical brains. It is easier to remove tyrants and destroy concentration camps than it is to kill the ideas which gave them birth and strength.” ― Harry Truman
