Andrea Lucas, the Trump-appointed acting chair of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, announced on social media Tuesday that she has hired as her chief of staff Shannon Royce, a long-time Christian conservative activist who led a lawsuit against the agency in the recent past over its defense of trans employees who faced discrimination at work.…

There is no theoretical underpinning to Trump’s agenda. Is it all just show? The Andrea Lucas hire is clearly for show, and fortunately the damage is limited to the domestic audience. Globally, the picture gets worse, and longer lasting. This up at Brad Delong’s substack:

Brad DeLong : ‘One of the top priorities for Canada, for Mexico, for Europe, for China right now is to figure out how to start de-risking from the United States as much as possible, as fast as possible…

[What happens] depends on whether there is actually a trade war, or whether it is the same kind of contest as a [faked] World Wrestling Federation match.

Donald Trump was in the ring. He went outside the ring. He picked up the metal folding chair. He waved the metal folding chair over his head. He said: “I’m going to come into the ring and I’m going to beat you up with the chair!”

The question is: Will he put the chair down and come back in the ring and have it be a normal wrestling match? Or is he going to do it again—pick up the chair and wave it around?

Either way, we are in substantial trouble.

My guess is we’re in as much trouble as Britain was after 2016, when they exited from the European Union. But it might be less. It might be a bunch more.

“It is bizarre to see how someone whose career has been so hostile to LGBTQ people pretty broadly is going to be chief of staff of the acting chair of an agency that exists to protect the civil rights of people at work, including LGBTQ people,” the EEOC employee said. She’s a “regressive pick,” the employee added, “on both reproductive rights and LGBTQ rights.”

It’s a feature folks, not a bug. Of course she was chosen because she’s anti-LGBTQ+

Some of these so-called Christians sure think about sex a lot.

Maybe even more than the Pagans they fear.

If it’s not brainwashing, then why do they all look the same?

We need to stop the tax-free indoctrination of children into religions that supported the enslavement of human beings.

Too much?

Considering they are both the fruit of Russian Intelligence, I imagine that was always the goal.

“Hating equally” is NOT part of the mission of the EEOC!

Given the Trump regime’s fondness for media personalities as government officials, I won’t be surprised if she hires J.K. Rowling as communications chief.

And that’s because white female Christians, who should be home raising their babies, have to muck about in everyone’s lives.

While I also had significant litigation experience in employment discrimination cases as a management-side attorney, my compliance and counseling work often involved me advising and training clients on the right answer under the relevant laws while considering both employer and employee interests, which especially helped prepare me for the EEOC’s mission of both preventing and remedying employment discrimination. I’m also so grateful for Justice Clarence Thomas*, who served as Chair of the EEOC earlier in his career, and Secretary of Labor, Gene Scalia, with whom I worked at my prior firm, for encouraging me during the lengthy confirmation process.* Alumna Spotlight: Andrea Lucas - Network of Enlightened Women

Lucas… said that one of her priorities would be “to defend the biological and binary reality of sex.”

Question in the back. Is it possible to “defend” a biological binary reality which is not a biological binary reality?

Nothing shows more respect for the department you have been picked to head than hiring someone who has sued the department in the past. BUT these MAGAts are too stupid to realize this.

Are you sure this press release about the acting EEOC chair didn’t come out of Mad Magazine?

My question to all these women, especially the “Christians”, who are being put in “top” positions in the administration is, how does it feel when Donald Trump grabs you by the pussy?

These pseudo-religious bigots are simply vile. And you can also take that as an anagram, if you wish.

“Lucas, soon after becoming acting chair of the commission, [said] that one of her priorities would be “to defend the biological and binary reality of sex.”

If she actually learns the biology of sex, she’s in for a big surprise!

Very binary.
