This cracks me up. FIRST off Rudy of ALL people knows what a cheap SOB Trump is and how he screwed people/cities/countries over his entire life. Secondly, the empty BS Trump told his followers about how it was OK to break the law because HE, the GREAT AND WONDERFUL OZ, would bail them out.

There was a quote from someone who’d dealt with Trump in real estate development in NYC that I’ll never be able to find but paraphrased from memory it was basically about how he’d be one person while doing the deal, and then later, at whatever point he decided to just not pay you here would be this guy on the phone screaming at you about how no he didn’t owe you millions you owed him millions and you’d be thinking holy shit is this the same guy that I’d had dinner with at Trump Tower who was oozing charm? Or presumably whatever ego-laced bragging that he considered charm.
It’s all performative rage to try to distract you from the fact that he’s rifling through your pockets, like a stage magician. It all is, all the rage about everything else is also. Every time I read about how Donald Trump is infuriated by how this or that happened I think nah, he’s just pretending to be as part of the grift.

I was wondering this. Does paying him create some sort of culpability? That said, there is probably more risk in Rudes being forced to cop a plea. Way more risk, but Trump is way too dumb to recognize that. This is just another domination ritual to him.

Trump’s almost certainly not going to pay. I wonder if he’ll even give Rudes access to his small-donor (aka “sucker”) list?
Of course, stiffing his lawyer merely puts increased pressure on Ghouliani to flip. All these good fellas claim they’ll never squeal, but remember how Michael Cohen had said he’d take a bullet for Trump?

I recall that story – I think it’s about Atlantic City, where he left in his wake all kinds of contractors who never got paid, and some of whom ended up out of business as a result.
