Dems got an ear full at their town halls during the summer break. Imagine it, ordinary citizens standing up in meeting after meeting demanding that these Democratic Representatives do the goddam job and hold Donald accountable. If they would have been wearing tri-cornered hats with tea bags hanging off them it would have been all over cable news, but…

Did you hear the one about the great fantastic trade deal with Japan?
It is not even a deal yet, but Trump spouted it at the G7. It may give US pork and wheat producers essentially the same deal as the TPP, which 11 other countries already have (Trump cancelled TPP). Trump also screwed porkers with steel and Alum tariffs whereupon Mexico slapped 20% on US pork. Then there is the loss from China.
“We are very happy that this agreement will end the growing competitive cost advantage that Canadian and Australian wheat imports got under the TPP agreement,” said US Wheat Associates Chairman Doug Goyings (CNN edit)
Shorter Goyings version: “Trump sure screwed us.”

America’s POTUS is a sycophant of the Russian president. The UK’s Prime Minister is also a sycophant of the Russian president (he’s talked the Queen in suspending Parliament so that a no-deal Brexit is a certainty).
I don’t know how much money Putin spent to control the government leaders of his two biggest enemies, but he has certainly got his money’s worth. And no blood was shed.

They could spend $25 billion on Trump’s wall. Alternatively, they could spend $25 billion on a building a giant statue of a hand giving the Mexico the middle finger.
The two solutions would be similar in cost, effectiveness of curtailing illegal immigration (or lack thereof), and denigrating our relationship with the Mexican people.
Its all symbolism - very expensive, wasteful symbolism.

After which time he did this, did she say this? Because this isn’t the first time. And what is she going to do about it? The reason he keeps doing it is that no one has stopped him. So who’s going to stop him?
We won’t know the impact of that until they re-convene in two weeks.
That’s, of course, if Trump doesn’t take a lesson from Boris and try to suspend Congress.
For all of Trump’s ineptitude and criminality we need to assign equal or greater blame to Congressional Republicans. They held Congress the first two years of his admin, when most of the damage was done, and a great many of them knew how screwed up his policies were, yet gladly went along with and enabled them.
