Mike Pence Mocked for Gaffe in Gas Pumping Video (msn.com)
ormer Vice President Mike Pence is being mercilessly mocked on social media over a new campaign ad that appears to show him pretending to pump gas.
Pence, who continues to struggle in the polls while challenging former President Donald Trump and other Republicans for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination, on Tuesday shared a short video of himself presenting the “Pence Plan” for energy while “pumping gas” into a red pickup truck on X, formerly Twitter.
The video shows the former vice president exiting the truck while inviting his viewers to “remember $2 a gallon gas.” Pence then picks up a gas pump and goes through the motions of fueling the truck while denouncing President Joe Biden’s “war on energy.”
However, X users were quick to point out that Pence is shown picking up the pump and fueling without paying. Pence also does not appear to be pressing down on the fuel lever at any point, while a beep that may indicate a fuel grade had not been selected is heard throughout the video.
“Pence has no clue how to pump gas,” posted the right-wing “End Wokeness” X account. “Who thought this was a good idea?”

I read somewhere last night that, given how the GOP-controlled legislature has gerrymandered Ohio, it’s able to pass laws not supported by majorities of the citizens. Voting “No” on this ballot question was, for now, just about the only way citizens can exercise some control over the legislature.

I’m sorry, but what is the Ohio Secretary of State (the guy who is responsible for free and fair elections in his state) allowed to work on a campaign for a ballot issue? Seems like a huge conflict of interest.
Perhaps the next ballot issue: Sec of State must stay out of politics?

Citizens in Trump’s thrall are lost. For good. There is no clawing them back from the abyss. A cascade of epiphanies isn’t going to wash over them, returning them to sanity’s fold. Our nation is yet to grapple with how a civilized, forward looking, progressive approach to problems will be hobbled by 40% of the populace fighting such efforts at every turn.

Trying Trump for his crimes is bad for the nation, but not trying him is far worse. If our experiment in democracy is to continue we have to hold all of us to the same standards. Giving Nixon a free pass was a mistake.
If conservatives like Goldsmith want to avoid such trials in the future maybe they should not nominate absolute clow car criminals to run for the whitehouse. Try to find people of education and integrity, not just billionaire dominated baffoons.
