Dorsey’s not smart-he’s scared like the whole bunch of them cowardly republicans.
So if I meet this guy in a stand-your-ground state a jury of his peers would convict me anyway?
The term ought to be rephrased as “The only good Dixiecrat is a dead Dixiecrat”. Because in 1948 after Truman signed the executive order integrating the armed forces and Humphrey instead a civil rights plank in the convention and the 1964 Civil Rights act led to their migration away from the Democratic party with Trumpism being the logical outcome.
“Guess we now need to go out and get guns to defend ourselves…” For my part, I would recommend getting a shovel instead. With a shovel one can dig a hole for oneself, while the predictably mis-aimed ammo is flying overhead making casualties of the shooters who never imagined themselves vulnerable to friendly fire. Just a thought…
This sounds more like al-Qaeda or ISIS than like an American, Who is this would be murderer of people for their political affiliations?
I love and respect how Twitter immediately followed its own rules, and basic decency, and deleted both the original post and President Pandemic’s repost.
What?
Not Deleted?
Nevermind…
Hi! To find out what I can do, say @discobot display help.
Anyone who thinks that Bush v Gore was not partially influenced by the memory of Timothy McVeigh and fear of radical right violence wasn’t there or wasn’t paying attention. For years the Republicans have benefitted in countless ways from having the implicit threat of an armed wing, far enough distant from the party for deniability. Problem is that our president is no longer just Sinn Fein but bordering on straight-up IRA.
Dear Senator Cornyn,
Do you agree with Trump that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat?
Sincerely,
Your constituent
I’m a gun owning Democrat too.
[spokesbot Judd Deere:] “The President and the entire administration condemn violence in all forms as we have stated many times,” …
… as we have stated to MBS while selling him weaponry to kill Yemenis and journalists … as we have stated to Putin while weakening NATO as armed Russians and their ethnic allies took the Donbass … as we have stated to Erdoğan while supporting his internal mass purge as Turkish forces shelled Syrian and Kurdish cities … as we have stated to Duterte while selling him weapons as Filipino forces killed anyone ratted out as a real or imagined drug dealer … as we have stated to Kim Jong-un while undercutting our South Korean and Japanese alliances as he tested H-bombs and intermediate-range missiles … as we have stated to Xi Jinping while cheering China’s forced incarceration of Uyghurs, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz and other ethnic Turkic Muslims, Christians as well as some foreign citizens such as Kazakhstanis …
Even money he didn’t write that tweet.
Both in the law and in the whole world of conflict there’s the concept of escalation, and four guys with that level of weaponry standing in front of a store constitutes a major escalation. Imagine the situation if a couple of kids with nines decided they didn’t like the idea. Suddenly one of your buddies is on the ground, another has a graze wound in his thigh, nobody knows where the shots came from and the kids who did it are long gone. You really haven’t supported anyone.
But whoever did was imitating his style and knows he just has to irrationally describe people he knows nothing of as “great” or “incredible” or whatever. The cheap pitchman mindset is corporate culture there.
I’m truly sorry for your loss. My wife has an extremely deep seated fear of such events. Your comment made me think “what if this happened here in Maine and it was a neighbor on our street…” Even though we’d just be neighbors, and still physically safe and unharmed, the emotional damage I know we would have to mitigate would be enormous. The fear. the anxiety and unrest.
Very, very sobering for someone who hasn’t been touched personally yet by the evil. I’m not sure why your post struck me so, because we read these things every day. But, for some reason it did and I felt compelled to respond. I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.
Trump has been angling for recognition, respect, and adulation his entire life. He’s only gotten attention. That was good enough for a while. But, he’s a Malignant Narcissist (and a whole lot of other messy neuro/psych shit thrown in there too.) So, attention is not enough. Since he can’t get any of his other narcissistic needs met, and I mean that quite literally, he has gone full-out domination mode. He pretty much has gotten that. He can order people around, treat them like shit, have other fire them so he doesn’t have to, play games with our (!) money to screw with world agencies, governments, his own people (us!), and anyone that gets in his way. It is still not enough. His delusive world is truly crashing in on him.
He is a corporal human, a really rotten (and rotting) one; he just not have a real self. It’s just all an illusion.
Well DEAR…if the show fits, wear it…otherwise STHFU
the longer you allow a boil to fester…the worse it gets!
I drove up to the Gabby Giffords meet up seconds after the shooting stopped. I rendered aid where I could. It was horrible. I had intended to meet up with a neighbor so we could meet Gabby together. My neighbor was killed. Very nasty memories of that day. But Mark Kelly has proved to be a pretty good senator and I’m sure Gabby is proud of him
