Bill Cassidy Chose Not to Fight, and It Did Not Save Him Rep. Julia Letlow (R-LA) announced Tuesday that she will challenge Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) in 2026, pulled into the race on the strength of President Trump’s preemptive weekend endorsement. “Louisiana deserves a conservative Senator who will not waver,” she wrote in a tweet…
Sometimes the rumor mill has the goods. ICE showed up in several parts of Portland (Maine, duh) this morning. I saw video of one apprehension adjacent to the neighborhood ice cream shack and not far down the street from a middle and elementary school. Two schools in another part of town locked up because of presence of ICE vehicles in the proximity. Why Maine? We welcome immigrants and we have lawmakers that have not (always) kowtowed to Trump. I hope my fellow Mainers are up for this.
Today was the day my daughter led a protest at her school and three other high schools. She made it happen, and hundreds showed up from her school for the mid day walk out.
So proud.
Good luck! You and the rest of Maine will need it, unfortunately. ![]()
I guess the DHS really hates Portlands. At least you can rest easy in the knowledge that Susan Collins will be VERY concerned.
As you should be!
Old Doc Cassidy now knows that no past offense will ever be forgiven … unless a suitable exchange of millions takes place. Did he wet Trump’s beak after voting to impeach? No? After dithering on Madman Kennedy? Not there, either.
So of course he’s being primaried. By a woman who owes her legislative seat to COVID-19 killing the actual candidate, her husband. Down with vaccinations!
If Cassidy is considered a “normie” Republican, than I guess it’s true. They are all assholes. I don’t consider voting for RFK to be confirmed as a plus.
Are their viable Democrats in Louisiana - if not Cassidy should change his affiliation - and if he gets elected vote to impeach him again.
Appropriately acerbic eulogy by Kate Riga!
The 20th Maine knew what to do with rebels.
“Bayoneeets!”
