OT. Not popular here to point this out, but that the Michigan church shooter was a Trump supporter probably had little to do with why he did what he did there, at least in any way that the FBI (even Patel’s) or anyone who knew him can fathom. Some commenters here have praised outlets like The Guardian because they have pointed to his support for Trump, and they have criticized the legacy media for not reporting on it. Well, maybe there can be good reasons for not linking every mass shooter’s motives to their support for their support for Trump or opposition to him. There’s something else afoot in our sick society.

If I thought the Dem leadership was capable of having a strong enough message to break through the media and make it look like a good idea, I’d be in favor of the shutdown. But medical care ain’t it. Because the higher cost from the Big Bill hasn’t kicked in yet, and people aren’t feeling it.
I don’t like the “optics” of Dems rolling over and voting for the CR, but it looks worse to me if they shut down the government without a better message that primes people for the midterms.

Deep down, he knows his hometown has always laughed at him, belittled him, hated him. His narcissism has thus far shielded him from seeing that response for what it’s always been. I’m mildly surprised it’s taken this long for him to strike back at all those years of rejection.

Not really. The Constitution bans bills of attainder. DoJ would have to handle TSF and his enablers. With the blanket pardon for J6 offenders, they are completely beyond reach for those crimes.
