“The President believes that people have a First Amendment right to political speech; he is having a rally, people can choose whether or not to come,” McEnany said.

There is always a giant lie in the middle of any official Trump statement. The people who choose to come to his rally are not islands - they are members of the community who are taking a chance at becoming vectors for the disease. So people who don’t come are also having their risk heightened by these attendees. All of the anti-maskers scream that wearing a mask is an individual choice but, like anti-vaxxers, they are actually choosing to put everyone in their community at higher risk.

And to make sure they maintain their personal responsibility, the campaign will get signed ‘Hold Harmless’ agreements from all of them.
