President Donald Trump sent a letter to World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus on Monday threatening to permanently yank the U.S.’ funding to the organization and terminate the country’s membership based on his conspiracy theory that the WHO allowed China to cover up the COVID-19 outbreak when it first began ramping up in the beginning of the year.
Annnd, down the rabbit hole we go…
With each new international diplomacy failure I wonder when the rest of the world will push back.
For some reason I suddenly remembered a 60’s-era bumper sticker:

At the rate he’s going, this may be the week he tries it!
Would someone please announce to the World that Trump lost the popular vote, his popularity is in the forties and the majority of American are embarrassed by his mouth and actions?
I would assume the funding is actually allotted by congress. Donnie should not be able to divert such funding. Once we are back in control, we need to curtail the powers of the president.
Congress made the decision to fund WHO.

Trump, three weeks from now: “I received a very special phone call from the WHO organization last night. They said, ‘Sir, we apologize, and accept all your demands.’ China will not be happy, I will tell you that.”
President Biden will be all-in on that. He knows the long game.
I’m not too worried. When Joe is in charge in seven months, we’ll be back in. He’ll have to demonstrate that the US does indeed believe in science and all that, but we’ll get some respect back by kicking this idiot to the curb in November.
That said, Election day is coming. Request your paper ballot now. Don’t allow anyone you know or love that is affected by this to be disenfranchised. Check your voter registration and make sure your voice is heard in November.
Get mad as hell and don’t take it anymore. Vote them all out - every one of them (I suspect after this next couple of weeks, there’ll be a changing of the legislative guard in Wisconsin, too.
If only we had had eyes and ears on the ground.
That way the situation would have been reported by an American, and not some global elite organization.
Maybe Trump will consider that in his next reign of terror.
He is giving China yet another opportunity to displace the US as the dominant power in the world. So much winning and whining.
In an interview, Mark Cuban, a real billionaire, lambasted Trump’s attempt to blame China for the virus’s origin and spread. He asked two very pointed questions.
The thing with this administration is that there is no long-term planning. There is only now and damn the consequences.
