Trump Sues To Keep NY Taxes From Congress | Talking Points Memo

Using a personal attorney, President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit Tuesday against the House Ways and Means Committee and two New York state officials in a bid to prevent them from taking advantage of a recently passed New York State law to obtain Trump’s state tax returns.

Trump is also asking to be reimbursed for his attorneys’ fees.

Why leave anything on the table when you can steal the table too!

Last I heard the House was not interested in the State Returns. If they were they should have had them the day the law was signed.

Get the NY returns released on 10/20/20- That would be a nice October Surprise.

If it gets released now it will be old news by the election.

Something to hide, Prez. HateSpeech?

Can the state of NY just get them themselves? Congressional dems seem a bit ambivalent about it.

Impeachment or no impeachment, this sure seems like the key to topping the whole gilded turd, given his extreme measures to hide whatever they contain. Where’s the leaker we need?

Gee, it’s almost like there might be something in these returns that Shithead doesn’t want the world to see!

Jesus. Scroll down this twitter feed and watch some of the video. GOP? You good with all this? Every day. EVERY. FUCKING. DAY. I’m sorry, but if violence doesn’t break out sometime next year during the campaign, it will be a miracle.

I dunno what Trump is worrying about. Democrats are never going to get his tax returns either through this route or any other. Because it would be seen as mean spirited and “independents” would be outraged and vote republican, or something like that.

Good God. What’s next? He gives a speech with a completely accidental mark from a Sharpie just below his nose?

Methinks he’s having a cow over tax returns which makes them all kinds of shiny. I also think his legal argument completely lacks merit, but then (a) what do I as a layperson know and (b) most of what he does lacks merit so nothing new here, move along…

…except those shiny-ass tax returns just keep us hanging on don’t they

I note he’s using his White House address. For a legal filing such as this, shouldn’t he be using his legal address which, if he intends to vote for himself next year, is still in New York?

Any lawyer here know the answer to this?

I’m old enough to remember when the savvy pundits were opining that a Hillary Clinton presidency would be total chaos and bogged down with never ending investigations and lawsuits.

Everyone, read the whole twitter feed on this and send to everyone you know. And contact your representatives and tell them the trump is violating his oath of office and is unfit to serve.

This lunatic is saying he has absolute authority, is threatening using the government to go after Democrats, and signalling right wing extremists to start striking out.

Daniel Dale. He fact-checks every Trump speech in real time like a skinny bespectacled force of nature.

that would ban the House committee from using the New York law, ban New York State Attorney General Letitia James from enforcing it, and ban New York State Taxation Commissioner Michael Schmidt from complying with any request under the law

That’s a Lot of Bans for an Innocent guy
Watcha hiding you fat orange prick?

For someone who has such disdain for the courts, Trump sure files a lot of lawsuits. Just saying…
