I watched tcf’s angry monologue about the microphone, and I get why his minions enjoy him. He was, on the surface, funny – if you wanted a dumber Lewis Black putting on a show. But this guy is RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT. In fact, he actually HELD THE OFFICE. (And he wasn’t joking about the insults to his prep crew. He was just bitter.)
But this ain’t pro wrestling.
Speaking of which, Jon Stewart had a terrific interview with Ezra Klein in the NYT where he nails the impact of the news media on politics. It’s nothing we don’t know, but it’s still nice to see it in … the news media. (Long but worth it if you have the time. I just saw the first Trump/Vance sign in my very liberal small town in the PNW where Harris signs are all over the place. I saw it driving on the main road into town, nailed to a tree trunk at the side of the road at least 50 feet in the air. It would have needed a good arborist climber or a hydraulic lift to get it up there. Looks like whoever did it didn’t want to take any chances! LOL

RIP Quincy Jones who was so generous to his alma mater Garfield High School. One of my kid’s had the honor to play in its award winning Jazz Band. GHS performing arts center bears his name with good reason. He was a legend and the world of music is better because of him.

Buckle up! It’s probably going to be a helluva roller coaster ride this week, but odds are the old wood beams and braces hold and when the ride pulls into the station, Madam President and flannel Dad Tim will be waiting there to greet us and walk us over for our snacks.
What will you want? Some delicious curry or the Minnesota vegan option, a turkey drumstick?
I did notice the other day that Tim found the Philly vegan option, a cheesesteak with, very, very good.
Personally, I’m going to go for some clams – chowdered and fried. Followed by a big cone of chocolate chip ice cream to honor Joe.

Between the disastrous last week for Trump, the stellar close-out by Harris, and - based in part on that Iowa poll - what could be a significant late shift in the vote towards Kamala led primarily by women, it’s satisfying to hope that Trump is now panicking realizing his criminal trials will soon resume, and that Putin is now sensing Ukraine slipping through his murderous fingers.
