Btw, that IRS portal that allows non-filers to give them your direct deposit info is now up and running. Kudos for getting it done so fast, although Intuit did all the work. (I bet he’ll claim he wrote the code.)

It is a bit premature for a “celebration” as the death count underestimates Covid related deaths due to only reporting the ones where the person had a positive test prior to death. More importantly we are very likely to have future waves of infection especially if we relax the lock downs too soon and without extensive testing in a misguided effort to quickly restart the economy. We are only going to have an estimate of the grim toll of this pandemic after we do statistical analysis of excess deaths over historical averages of prior years. Until we have an effective vaccine and effective treatments I am afraid we are in for a couple of rough and lonely years. Of course Donnie only cares about the count between now and Nov. 3rd.
